Shock is a life-threatening condition in which blood pressure drops so low that the brain, kidneys, and other vital organs can't get enough blood to work properly. Blood pressure drops much lower in shock than in other types of hypotension.
yours is normal, no need to panic. also see http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/dci/Diseases/hyp/h...

There are many reasons for hypotension, including certain medications and medical conditions. The 111 is in the normal range, but I am very concerned about the 44. That seems way too low. I think the lowest reading that is considered "normal" is 90/60. If you have any symptoms such as dizziness, blurred vision, fainting, etc., PLEASE seek medical care ASAP. I'm wondering if you had your b/p taken at the doctor's office and if so, was he concerned?
If you don't already, I suggest buying a b/p monitor and checking your b/p several times during the day. Keep a log so you can show your doctor.

111/44 is OK. When your blood pressure is so low that you have symptoms, like dizziness, blurred vision, slow mentation (can't think right), then get it checked. Blood pressure is one of the "silent killers". Not too many symptoms exist, or are experienced. (High blood pressure, if there are any symptoms, could be headache or nose bleeds.)

Low blood pressure causes Faulty nutrition, Malnutrition The most important cause of low blood pressure is faulty nutrition. It makes the tissues forming the walls of the blood vessels over-relaxed, and flabby or streched. This results in less supply of oxygen and nutrients to the tissues. Malnutrition can result from a diet deficient in calories, proteins, vitamin C, or almost any one of the B vitamins. Loss of blood, slow internal bleeding Sometimes the blood pressure falls rapidly because of loss of blood. Low blood pressure may also develop gradually because of slow bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract, kidneys, or bladder. Emotional instability Emotional problems are a far more frequent cause of low blood pressure. To a lesser degree, prolonged disappointment and frustration may result in a subnormal blood pressure.
