Moms and Dads of Babies:How often do you feed your 5 month old?

My daughter will be 5 months old next week. I am still pretty much exclusively breastfeeding. I just started giving her a little bit of rice cereal once a day. She still nurses about every 3 hours, but not during the night. She sleeps from about 9-10pm until about 6:30 or 7 most days. (give or take)

How often did or do you feed your baby at this stage? When did you introduce solids. She is prone to allergies so we are holding off on that a little longer.

at a little before 4.5 months i started her on cereal once a day, then moved to cereal in the am, and veggies at supper, started with sweet potatoes, and now trying butternut squash, for variety. she still drinks her bottle every 3 to 3.5 hours, and sleeps from about 930pm to 7-8 am, sometimes laterI was giving her cereal before her second feeding, but now i give it to her when she wakes followed by a bottle. she used to drink 8oz on waking but now with the cereal (3tbsp cereal and 50ml water) she drinks 5 to 6 oz after. with the veggies i make my own food, bake them then puree then put in ice cube trays and freeze them. I give her 2 cubes, warmed of course, for supper, then she has 4 to 5 oz milk. at bed she has 7 to 8 oz milk and regular feedings without solids she will have 6 to 7 oz, usually closer to 6. sometimes in between the solids, i will give her a piece os apple or nectarinein one of those mesh baggie things for babies.

forgot to mention, she is 5months and 1 week old now so shes been on solids for about a month

With my older son Max, when he was 5 months old, he was having 4 bottles of formula a day and breastfeeding once (about every 3 hours), and then he'd sleep about 11 hours straight at night. And he had 2 small solid feedings a day, baby oatmeal in the morning, and rice cereal in the evening.

With my twin boys, when they were 5 months old, they were breastfeeding 6 times a day, and having a bottle of breastmilk once a day, eating about every 2 to 2/1/2 hours, and then they'd sleep about 8/1/2 hours straight at night. They hadn't yet started any solids at 5 months old, and now just at 7 months old i have started giving them a lil bit of rice cereal once a day.

    Hope this helps, :D

i started my son on baby rice and early cereals at around 5 months old.

He was formula fed, and was taking 6 x 8oz of milk at every feed so around midday i would give him one of the cereals mixed with his formula milk, and then in the evening i would give him one of the veggie dinners and mix it up with the milk.

i also began giving him rusk to eat as a finger food.

That sounds wide-spread to me. My 19 month old nonetheless desires to feed over evening, yet simply by fact he sleeps with us he does not truthfully awaken, only snuffles on over and attaches:) I additionally ought to consume at evening each and every so often and can't sleep if i'm hungry, so it form of feels unnecessarily merciless to not feed a splash one in the event that they choose for it. study prepare that the advent of solids has no result on little ones sleep varieties. maximum little ones won't have the skill to digest sturdy foodstuff before 6 months, is there any reason you have presented solids so early? Watch weight income, i understand lots of people who've had issues with the aid of early advent of solids, and that is related to (between different issues) grownup weight problems.

I started giving my baby cereal at 4 months and then worked through the yellow veggies, green veggies, then fruit to about 7 months...then she had 4 teeth so I have her babyfood with noodles and combos...but its all up to you, your baby and your doctor...you're doing fine
