27/F Mom of 1 beautiful little girl who is unfortunately an allergy sufferer. I have been married for 8 years and am a Christian. I also work as a registered nurse. I love reading, writing, researching, singing/music and dogs.

  • Christianity and sex during menstruation?

What are your thoughts? It's in the old testament...then again so is stoning? I feel it is fine.

  • Christian wanting divorce?

My husband and I have been married for 10 years. We got married REALLY young ( I was 18) because we thought it was the right thing to do at the time. Over the years, he has become a complete workaholic and we are not compatible at ALL. He spends very little time with me. He wakes up at 4 or 5 am every day and usually isn't home until 9-10:30pm and sometimes later. He works ALL the time. My love language is quality time and I am feeling no better than a pet fish in the marriage. We also have a 2 year old little girl that he spends very little time with. He loves her but he doesn't do much fathering to her. He has never given her a bath or fed her a meal. Her entire life I think he has changed maybe 2 diapers and he has only been alone with her to "babysit" about 3 times. The longest was 4 hours (I was having a miscarriage at that time and had to go to the doctor). I work part time as a registered nurse and when I work nights my daughter stays with family so that I can work. He doesn't have time to watch her with his busy job. He also makes me feel very disrespected at times...stating that I don't work as hard as he does or respect what he does and that he has to work all the time. It is so frustrating. I don't know how a person helps a workaholic...but workaholism is as detrimental to our family as any other addiction at this point. He is also unwilling to seek help or any kind of counseling. It is hard because I can't just say "go to rehab for your job". He needs to work...just have a little more balance! There is absolutely no balance. If he isn't sleeping, he is working. We never have a meal together as a family. We don't have friends together because he is always working. It is like he is focusing on work so he doesn't have to deal with any kind of relationship. We are both Christians but I feel like he is very far away from God right now. He hasn't been to church in over a year. I love God and church but I feel guilty for wanting to just end the marriage. It is hurtful to continually be rejected by your husband because he is so busy working all the time. I feel like we would both be better off if we were apart. As a Christian woman, is this a just reason to seek divorce. I was doing some reading on what both Paul and Jesus said regarding divorce and have come to the conclusion that it isn't just infidelity or physical abuse that include a "just cause" for seeking divorce. Any advice appreciated...

  • Any experience with a toddler and C. Diff infection?

My 18 month old got C. Difficile, she was never on antibiotics, but somehow contracted it from the environment. I am terribly worried for her. She is on her 2nd round of Flagyl. She didn't have the diarrhea that bad, mostly just mucousy stools. Her pediatrician said 30% of kids will need a 2nd round of Flagyl to get rid of it. She acts fine and I am also giving her probiotics. I hate reading on the internet because all you hear are horror stories. I just need someone to tell me she will get over this and be okay. Thanks y'all.

  • Dying your hair when a female in the military?

My little sister just shipped out for basic training, she is in reception right now so she was able to text me using her cell phone in the evening. She said they made her dye her hair a dark brown. She is a natural blonde and her hair is really light. I thought it was really weird that they made her dye it. I suppose it is because she had highlights and lowlights in it?

  • Am I depressed and should I go on antidepressants?

I feel down probably 80% of the time. I feel anxious and down about so many things in my life. I want to be happy, but I can't help how I feel. Some of it is my circumstances, but I am wondering if I should go on an antidepressant. I feel fine when I am around people or doing things, but when I am home with my daughter by myself I can hardly stand it. Do I sound depressed?

  • Bleeding at 7 weeks pregnant?

I am mother to a beautiful one year old little girl. I recently found out that I am pregnant again. I am about 7 weeks along. I had an ultrasound on Friday and we saw the baby and the heartbeat and all that. But, what I have been experiencing is vaginal bleeding. It actually started a couple weeks ago as very light spotting and has just continued to get a little bit heavier. Now it isn't really a "flow" per say but it is more than just spotting. It is bright red. Are these signs that I am going to miscarry? Anyone experienced this?

  • What do you think of the name Beatrix?

I really like it. It think it's spunky while also being a classic name. I love the nickname "Bea". Wondering what your thoughts are on this name. What would you think if you met a little Beatrix?

  • MSG and soy free pork rinds?

Just wondering if anyone knows of a brand of pork rinds that are MSG and soy free? Unfortunately soy is in everything these days. I feel it is bad for us as people to be consuming so much of it. We also question if my daughter is allergic to it. I have heard crushing up pork rinds can make a tasty "breading" for fried chicken and such.

  • Anyone heard of allergy drops under the tongue/tried it?

My pediatrician said this has worked for little kids and babies with eczema and recommended an allergist to me who practices this way. Has anyone done this and had success?( I believe it is called immunological therapy or something)

  • My husband is a workaholic?

He runs his own business. He runs a lodge and takes people fishing/hunting. He works CONSTANTLY. He is up and out the door by 5am, and often times he doesn't come home until 10 or 11pm. This is 7 days a week. No he doesn't even take Sundays off. He doesn't help with our 5 month old baby AT ALL or do ANY housework. (He hasn't even changed 1 diaper). I work part time outside the home as well as a nurse. I feel that putting time and effort into our family and marriage is impossible. We don't have many friends because he has no time for them. It is very frustrating. What can I do? To run his business and for it to be sucessful it requires a lot of work, I understand that. But it has gone too far. We don't own nice things...there is too much money stuck into the business right now. He doesn't go to church anymore because he has things to do on Sunday. He rarely comes to family events, especially events for my side of the family.

How long do I live like this? I don't believe in divorce, but I feel like my chance of having a happy, normal marriage and family is impossible. There is no love in a marriage when there is no time spent together. I feel like he will never change.

  • If I buy a new remote will it work for my TV?

I have an Ilo brand TV and tried using a universal remote to replace the original remote that broke. We could not get it to work. There was no code listed and we tried to do the whole search for codes thing and it didn't work. I am thinking of buying a remote off of ebay that is exactly the same as the one we broke. Will it for sure work for our TV?

  • Moms and Dads of Babies:How often do you feed your 5 month old?

My daughter will be 5 months old next week. I am still pretty much exclusively breastfeeding. I just started giving her a little bit of rice cereal once a day. She still nurses about every 3 hours, but not during the night. She sleeps from about 9-10pm until about 6:30 or 7 most days. (give or take)

How often did or do you feed your baby at this stage? When did you introduce solids. She is prone to allergies so we are holding off on that a little longer.

  • Anyone here been induced with Cytotec oral pills?

Dr. wants me to do this Monday if my baby hasn't been born. I will be 41 weeks. They don't like to let you go more than 1 week over. I know I can refuse it--kind of already signed up to do it, but can change my mind. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this??

  • How can I request thimerosol free H1N1 vaccine?

I want to receive the shot as I am 19 weeks pregnant, but only if I can get thimerosol free. I don't think those preservatives in those vaccines are completely safe. I've heard they are making some that is thimerosol free--how can I make sure I receive that kind?

  • Caroline or Carolyn-which is better?

    Which is better and why?

I like the nickname Carly for Carolyn--saw that on TV and thought it was adorable, and you don't hear the name Carolyn very often. Caroline is a little more sophisticated, however.
