Bleeding at 7 weeks pregnant?

I am mother to a beautiful one year old little girl. I recently found out that I am pregnant again. I am about 7 weeks along. I had an ultrasound on Friday and we saw the baby and the heartbeat and all that. But, what I have been experiencing is vaginal bleeding. It actually started a couple weeks ago as very light spotting and has just continued to get a little bit heavier. Now it isn't really a "flow" per say but it is more than just spotting. It is bright red. Are these signs that I am going to miscarry? Anyone experienced this?

Update:

I did tell the doc on Friday. They told me it was either the placenta burrowing in or I was going to have a MC. (nice huh?). Anyway, I never had this with my first baby so it seems weird to me.

Even though you saw the heartbeat and everything anything can happen this early in the pregnancy, that being said there's also a good chance that this pregnancy will produce another happy and healthy baby. I had some bleeding with my second pregnancy and almost assumed that test was wrong (before any ultrasound) You should defintly talk to your doctor ASAP he/she will probably want to do another ultrasound or fetal heart rate to determine the status of the baby. Bleeding doesn't mean you will miscarry but it does mean there could be a problem with the placenta (not that there is but could be) the best thing to do is have it checked out by your doc

Are you cramping too? I've read that second time Mom's will experience some spotting during their second pregnancy. The most common signs of miscarriage is heavier bleeding with clots etc and cramping. Talk to your doctor so you can put your mind at ease.
