Anyone here been induced with Cytotec oral pills?
Dr. wants me to do this Monday if my baby hasn't been born. I will be 41 weeks. They don't like to let you go more than 1 week over. I know I can refuse it--kind of already signed up to do it, but can change my mind. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this??
He wants to give it to me orally....

Unless you have medical issues, you would be smarter to put it off until you are 42 weeks. There is no reason to push for delivery at 41 weeks according to any studies. Just because you signed up for it doesn't mean that you can't say "I've changed my mind. I'd like to wait until I'm 42 weeks or go into labor on my own.'
Cytotec is applied to your cervix. While it is a good drug, it has caused uterine rupture in the past in women who have never even had a c-section. While many doctors have reduced the amount of Cytotec used in light of this, not all have. In my opinion, until you are 42 weeks or have developed other issues, the risks outweigh the need for induction.
You might think I am overcautious and perhaps I am. I had an illness that only 1 in 250,000 people get and it ruined my eye. It doesn't matter how low the stats are if you are the one who has the bad reaction.

I not ever had the cytotec. With my first and 3rd pregnancies, I went into exertions on my possess and added VERY rapid. Since my first one used to be so fast (five hours) the medical professionals stated they desired to manage the following pregnancies to some degree. When my due date drew near, they gave my option of dates to have my son. We went in, I had the pit and six hours later, I had a lovely little boy. With my 3rd one... it used to be one more the town, distinct medical professionals... I desired to be triggered. Only one stated he'd do it. The others stated to attend till I used to be overdue. I had already informed them I would not be overdue. I'd be proper on time..... and I used to be. And she got here after four hours of work... no meds. I'm preventing with the third one, incidentally. I'm too scared what might occur with little one #four! At any price, speak for your health care provider. Let him/her recognize your matters and that you would as an alternative now not take the capsule. The pit with the epidural is way larger than no meds in any respect. Good good fortune.
