MSG and soy free pork rinds?

Just wondering if anyone knows of a brand of pork rinds that are MSG and soy free? Unfortunately soy is in everything these days. I feel it is bad for us as people to be consuming so much of it. We also question if my daughter is allergic to it. I have heard crushing up pork rinds can make a tasty "breading" for fried chicken and such.

Easiest answer I can think of is to make your own. Buy a piece of slab bacon or side pork and remove the skin ( or you can ask your local butcher if he could save you or sell you a piece of the skin from a slab) cut it into pieces and deep fry in 360 degree oil, as soon as the skin hits the oil it PUFFS like magic LOL. Here's Paula Deens recipe for ham skins...there's lots of recipes out there. Good luck!

I have never seen the plain pork rinds have any other ingredients but salt and pork skins. Stay away from the flavored varieties, and you should be perfectly safe.

    Sorry I can't help

    BUT

why would it be necessary to add these ingredients - to the trimmed fat that is deep fried in oil ? ?

MSG is far more expensive that plain salt

? ? where would the soy fit in this food ? ?

sorry about your daughter - maybe she will grow out of it

BTW msg is just another salt - ? ? - just another scary name ("mono" "sodium" "glutamate' - OH MY ! ! )
