Christianity and sex during menstruation?
What are your thoughts? It's in the old testament...then again so is stoning? I feel it is fine.

The old testament period didn't have good anticeptics and antibiotics. By becoming diseased and contagious without cure, you are better off dead than making other people diseased and dying.
Also, the law was there to show how pathetic the sinners are, that they are all doomed.
Now that we have a Savior who actually cleansed all our sins through sacrifice and resurrection, a faithful believer needn't worry about the Law. The law is still valid, but a faithful who received the Savior and His Holy Spirit will not be judged by the Law, and the Holy Spirit will guide them in the right path during the earthly living.

In Israel, laws imposed limits on sexual activities even within the marriage bond. A husband was to refrain from having relations with his wife during her menstrual period.
This required loving consideration and self-control on the part of the Israelite menfolk. Should Christians be any less considerate of their wives? The apostle Peter says that Christian husbands should dwell with their wives “according to knowledge,” that is, knowledge of their make-up as “a weaker vessel, the feminine one.”
Under the Law, if a man had an involuntary emission of semen, he was to bathe and be “unclean” until evening. When, during intercourse, a man had a seminal emission, both he and his wife would be “unclean” from it until the evening.
A woman having her regular menstruation was to count seven days as a period of menstrual impurity. In a case where a wife’s menses began during intercourse, then her husband was “unclean” seven days also. If one touched a menstruating woman’s garments, bed or articles upon which she sat, he would become “unclean” until evening.
In regard to menstruation, respect for blood as something sacred to God seems also to have been involved. If a husband and wife willfully had relations while she was menstruating, the man would have “exposed her source,” and the woman would have “laid bare the source of her blood.
Since an Israelite husband was not to have relations with his wife at such a time, as was discussed above, those who deliberately showed contempt for God’s law on this matter were to be cut off.

Totally unsatisfactory.
Sex during menstruation is not clean! Even a gynecologist will mention that it isn't behoove to engage in sex...it may risk infection inside the uterus. Menses is GOD's way of allowing a women to have her 'blueprints' become clean, expelling dead tissue, etc.
GOD gave us that rule because it is for our benefit of health. Why disregard GOD's Law when He knows what is best for His Creation?
For Christians, why would you not follow the Laws contained in the 'Old Testament'? Didn't Jesus say that the Law must be fulfilled? And that he came to not destroy the Law, but to fulfill? (Matt. 5:17) Even prophet Samuel even stated that GOD isn't human, for to change His Mind (1 Sam. 15:29). GOD doesn't create Laws, just to have it abolished 2,000 years later.
If you are unclear about GOD changing his mind on Laws, refer to Numbers 23:19, Ezekiel 24:14.
Sounds to me that Jesus did not come to abolish any Laws, but to make sure that they are to still be followed. The reason why Jesus would proclaim this, is because the Jews were disregarding the Laws, calling them old and not compliance anymore...Jesus even called the Pharisees hypocrites because they picked and chosen which Laws to follow. Jews were following the commandments of men, rather than the Laws of the Torah....just like many Christians today.
Anyone who believes that Jesus abolished the Law is in grave manifest error. Who do Christians believe and follow more? Paul or Jesus? If anyone believes the Law don't matter nor comply, is calling Jesus a liar. I would figure that Jesus would have more authority than Paul. Shouldn't people interpret Jesus's teachings by what Jesus said, rather than follow Paul's interpretation of what Jesus said? Paul wasn't even a disciple of Jesus, nor met him.
I don't see any solid foundation of faith and practice of a religion when people disregard the Laws that GOD issued. People picking and choosing what they should follow?
Even stoning should still be in practice, it'll deter and perhaps prevent crimes. Too many people believing that these Laws contained in the Torah are too archaic and barbaric...but look at the world today, it's in chaos.
Bill, menstruation it has nothing to do with blood being sacred, it is ultimately bounded to cleanliness. Menses isn't primarily blood, its shedding of the endometrium. Therefore menses isn't the so-called sacred substance, i.e. blood.

I find that rather nasty myself, but anal is always an option. Your bible mentions that in the OT and from what all the christians constantly say, the OT no longer matters and the law from the OT no longer applies. So, there you go.
On a side note, if you're husband is always working, who are you having sex with?

Well the old testament contains a bunch of commandments that are and may sound stupid for our society nowadays, why? Because we just needed to follow the laws of Moses because there was not a savior by that time. Read the new testament, the old testament is just 'old'.
