Are YOU aware that Jesus Christ's "return" / second "coming" has already happened?

The majority of Jewish people are still awaiting the Messiah's 1st coming... however, that event took place 2,000 years ago.

The churches of Christendom are still awaiting the Messiah's "return" / second "coming"... however, that event happened 96 years ago, in 1914 C.E.

To "return" does not always mean that one goes to a literal place. Thus sick persons are said to ‘return to health.’ And a former ruler may be said to ‘return to power.’ In a similar way, God told Abraham at Genesis 18:14; 21:1: “I shall return to you, next year at this time, and Sarah will have a son” (Genesis 18:14 {American Standard Version} http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesi... / Genesis 21:1 {American Standard Version} http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesi... ).

Jehovah’s "return" meant, NOT LITERALLY returning, but turning his attention to Sarah to do what he had promised. IN THE SAME WAY, Christ’s "return" DOES NOT mean that he LITERALLY comes back to this earth. Rather, it means that he takes Kingdom power toward this earth and turns his attention to it. He does not need to leave his heavenly throne and actually come down to earth to do this. Bible evidence, chronology and worldwide events shows that in the year 1914 C.E, God’s time arrived for Christ to "return" and begin ruling.

It was then that the cry was heard in heaven recorded at Revelation 12:10:

“NOW have come to pass the salvation and the power and THE KINGDOM of our God and THE AUTHORITY of his Christ”.

Since Christ’s return is invisible, is there a way to confirm that it has really occurred? Yes, there is. Christ himself gave a VISABLE COMPOSITE “sign” by which we may know that he is invisibly present and the end of this present world (global system of things) is near.

Are YOU aware that Jesus Christ's "return" / second "coming" (Parousia) has ALREADY happened?

Update:

EDIT: Way to go "Omar" and "במדבר פרח"!

You definitely get it! :-)

This question is DEAD SERIOUS and the majority of the people have absolutely no clue... just as Jesus himself said would be the case during the time of his Parousia (presence).

I'm TOTALLY enjoying this and find the negative answers that the majority here are giving to actually be VERY faith strengthening to me!

Update 2:

Shortly before Jesus’ death, while he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, four of his apostles came to ask him for a “sign”.

This is the way their question has been read, in the King James Version Bible, by millions of people:

“Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and the end of the world?”

~Matthew 24:3

(KJV)

But what do these expressions, “thy coming” and “the end of the world,” really mean?

The Greek word here translated “coming” is PAROUSIA, and it means “PRESENCE”.

So, then, when the “sign” is seen, this means we would know that Christ is PRESENT though unseen, that he has ALREADY "come" (returned) in heavenly royal Kingdom power.

The expression “end of the world” is also very misleading. It DOES NOT mean the end of the earth, but, rather, the end of Satan’s system of things (2 Corinthians 4:4).

Update 3:

The apostles’ question therefore ACCURATELY reads as follows:

“Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your PRESENCE and of THE CONCLUSION OF THE SYSTEM OF THINGS?”

—Matthew 24:3

(New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures)

Jesus DID NOT give just ONE event as “the sign.” He told of MANY happenings and situations. Other Bible writers besides Matthew mentioned ADDITIONAL EVENTS that would mark the “last days” of this world (system of things).

All these things that were foretold would take place during the time that Bible writers called the “last days” (2 Timothy 3:1-5; 2 Peter 3:3, 4). These happenings would be like the different lines that make up a person’s fingerprint, a print that cannot belong to any other person. The “last days” contain their own pattern of marks, or happenings. These form a positive “fingerprint” that CANNOT belong to ANY OTHER time period.

This "world" entered it's LAST DAYS in 1914, we are DEEP in the time of the end.

Are YOU aware that the organization you follow once taught that the "last days" began in 1799; Jesus' invisible return occurred in 1874; Jesus began ruling in heaven in 1878; and that 1914 marked the "END of the Gentile times," including the END of the Battle of Armageddon?

"Our Lord, the appointed King, is now present since October 1874, A.D., according to the testimony of the prophets, to those who have ears to hear it: and the formal inauguration of his kingly office dates from April 1878, A.D." Studies in Scriptures Series IV (1897) p.621

"the battle of the great day of God Almighty: The date of the close of that 'battle' is definitely marked in Scripture as October 1914. It is already in progress, its beginning dating from October, 1874." Zion's Watch Tower Jan. 15, 1892, p.23

"Now, in view of recent labor troubles and threatened anarchy, our readers are writing to know if there may not be a mistake in the 1914 date. They do not see how present conditions can hold out so long under the strain. We see no reason for changing the figures - nor could we change them if we would. They are, we believe, God's dates, not ours. But bear in mind that the end of 1914 is not the date for the beginning, but for the END of the time of trouble." Zions Watch Tower July 15, 1894, p.226

And this was not only taught in "ancient" history. That 1874 marked the beginning of Jesus' invisible presence when he returned and began ruling was not changed to 1914 until 1943, in Ch 11 of "The Truth Shall Make You Free" (See God's Kingdom of a Thousand Years Has Approached, 1973, pp. 209-210)

This is the way it was taught in The Harp of God in 1923:

"...1799 definitely marks the beginning of 'the time of the end'...we have been in 'the time of the end' since 1799" (The Harp of God, 1928 ed., pp. 235, 239).

"From 1874 forward is the latter part of the period of 'the time of the end'. From 1874 is the time of the Lord's second presence... It was in the year 1874, the date of our Lord's second presence, that the first labor organization was created." (The Harp, pp. 236, 240).

"There are two important dates here that we must not confuse, but clearly differentiate, namely, the beginning of 'the time of the end' and of 'the presence of the Lord.' 'The time of the end' embraces a period from 1799 A. D., as above indicated, to the time of the complete overthrow of Satan's empire and the establishment of the kingdom of the Messiah. The time of the Lord's second presence dates from 1874, as above stated. (Harp, p. 236)

Your third paragraph is quoted directly from the red "Paradise" book, beginning on page 146 in the 1982 edition. This is the same publication that states, "Which generation did Jesus mean? He meant the generation of people who were living in 1914. Those persons yet remaining of that generation are now very old. However, some of them will still be alive to see the end of this wicked system." (p. 154)

But if you attended the Watchtower study a few weeks ago when the April 15, 2010 WT was studied, then I'm sure you caught the "new light" on what Jesus meant:

"How, then, are we to understand Jesus’ words about 'this generation'? He evidently meant that the lives of the anointed WHO WERE ON HAND WHEN THE SIGN BEGAN TO BECOME EVIDENT IN 1914 WOULD OVERLAP WITH THE LIVES OF OTHER ANOINTED ONES WHO WOULD SEE THE START OF THE GREAT TRIBULATION. That generation had a beginning, and it surely will have an end." (Although the Bible clearly teaches that the length of a generation is 70-80 years at Psalm 90:10.)

Interestingly, I have both editions of the red "Paradise" book. Concerning the people of ancient Sodom and Gomorrah, the 1982 edition says, "Although they had been very immoral, we can expect that some of them WILL BE RESURRECTED." (p. 179) The 1989 edition, however, states: "Will such terribly wicked persons be resurrected during Judgment Day? The Scriptures indicate that apparently they WILL NOT." (p. 179)

So, thank you kindly, but I prefer to stick to following the One who is the same yesterday, today and forever, and to getting my information straight from the Bible with the aid of the Holy Spirit. The governing body of the Watchtower Society seems to have a good deal of trouble making up their mind about scriptural matters, and they're far too wishy-washy to be taken seriously.

    1) Are YOU aware that Jesus Christ's "return" / second "coming" has already happened?

No - and this is why:

    http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=mat%20...

    2) Jehovah’s "return" meant, NOT LITERALLY returning, but turning his attention to Sarah to do what he had promised. IN THE SAME WAY, Christ’s "return" DOES NOT mean that he LITERALLY comes back to this earth. Rather, it means that he takes Kingdom power toward this earth and turns his attention to it.

How do you know this? I understand what you are saying...but you have not given us any reason to believe that **this** is what the Bible means by "return" in this instance. I still think it means "return physically". Please provide the evidence proving that it does not mean "return physically".

    3) Since Christ’s return is invisible

See passage quoted for 1). Your statement *seems* to directly contradict the Bible.

    4) So, then, when the “sign” is seen, this means we would know that Christ is PRESENT though unseen

Conclusion does not follow logically from the premises. Nothing about what Jesus said in the preceding passages that you quote suggests "unseen".

Then we are in bad shape if you are right.

There should be know more death according to Revelations 20:15, Rev 21:4 and no more tears or crying and so on but we have plenty of these.

When he returns it's in the same manner the disciples SEEN him ascend. Matt 24:30, Acts 1:11.

You mean the Bible lied when it said every eye would behold and every knee bow when Christ Jesus returns in glory, accompanied by all the angels?

Ah, but I forget - YOU read the New World Translation of the Bible which has been suitably modified to accomodate your beliefs. Tell us, where in the Bible (any Bible will do) does it say that mere mortals are privileged to know when Jesus will return? Even Jesus didn't know. But the Watch Tower Society does? Wow!

Tell us, where in the Bible (any Bible will do) does it say that Jesus' second coming/presence was going to be invisible?

Tell us, where in the Bible (any Bible will do) does it say that only a handful of people would "see" this astounding event with "spiritual eyes" - that it wasn't going to be literal?

Tell us, where in the Bible (any Bible will do) does it say that Jesus' is never, ever coming back to earth (as you believe)?

If YOU believe Jesus' second coming is invisible, then YOU don't believe God's Word - YOU prefer to believe the Governing Body, a bunch of men.

Heaven help YOU when He does return. I'm praying for YOU and all the other 7 million Jehovah's Witnesses who prefer to believe men rather than to trust God's Holy and Inspired Word. YOU have been decieved.

You greatly err, not knowing Scripture!

Jesus HIMSELF said, "I am going to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also." (John 14:2,3)

The PURPOSE of Jesus' return is to take us to be with Him. Since we Christians are not yet with the Lord, He has not yet returned.

Jesus warned us of YOU and your false claims of His return. He said that if anyone tells us that He has returned, do not believe it! "Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or 'There!' do not believe it ... if they say to you, 'Look, He is in the desert!' do not go out; or 'Look, He is in the inner rooms!' do not believe it! " (Matthew 24:23,26)

Why?! Because NO ONE WILL MISS HIS RETURN!

    HIS RETURN IS LITERAL:

"... While they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked ... two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, ... 'This same Jesus, ... will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.' " (Acts 1:9-11)

    HIS RETURN IS VISIBLE:

Jesus HIMSELF said of His return, "Foras the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of hte Son of Man be ... They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory." (Matthew 24:27,30)

EVERYONE WILL SEE HIM WHEN HE COMES AGAIN:

"Behold, He is coming with clouds, and EVERY EYE WILL SEE HIM, an dthey also who piercedc Him. ..." (Revelation 1:7)

IT WILL BE A NOISY EVENT:

"For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangle, and with the trupet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first." (1 Thessalonians 4:16)

IT WILL BE GLORIOUS & WITH ALL HIS ANGELS

"For the Son of Man will come IN THE GLORY OF HIS FATHER WITH HIS ANGELS, and then He will reward each according to His works." (Matthew 16:27)

Sorry to break it to you, but Jesus Himself disagrees with your statement that He has already come! Jesus was VERY CLEAR how He would come back, and it has NOT YET HAPPENED!

So, I will believe the inerrant Word of God over your personal opinion!

    Class Dismissed!

    Ciao!

I don't know if you have had a chance to read the book of Matthew, but here it what is says about Jesus' return:

Matthew 24: 30,31 "Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a great sound of trumpet, and they will gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other."

I think you will see it is very obvious that we will see Jesus when He returns.

    Take care,

The Reformer has already came as Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. He was the Mahdi and Messiah everyone awaited, however many have failed to recognize him. If you need more info about this, Google it.
