Black screen before boot up after installing RAM?

Just got a netbook Asus 1005PEB (Specs: [url]http://www.amazon.com/Asus-Seashell-1005PEB-RRED01... ), bought the Corsair Gaming Laptop memory 2 GB CGM2X2GS800

was wondering if it wasn't compatible? when I replaced the asus pre-installed one with the new one, only a black screen came up and the boot screen nor the windows screen came up.

Thank You,

sehana

Update:

Re-installed the old ram and worked fine. Tried (new one) again to make sure I put the new one in correctly and still didn't boot up

Update 2:

Resolved... went and got a kingston. it works now.

thanks for answering

99% of the time errors like this are caused by a poor connection with the RAM. Remove the ram and reinstall it. If that doesn't fix the problem, re-install and your old ram and make sure the computer boots up to rule out any other loose connections that may have happened when you were in the computer to install the ram.

Maybe you have installed a wrong module which isn't compatible after all. Also, which ram are thebother two modules. Because they need to be 256 ddr too. Confirm if it's ddr and not ddr 2 or 3. Also check if the modules are all from the same brand. When reading your question, your computer recognizes the modules. Try another format I.E: 512ddr ram then 256 amd 256. So the biggest module is placed first. I hope this has helped. Otherwise it may be a problem far worse, because when installing the chips, you need to know sure that you arent Electro static. You need to discharge yourself first when putting those modules in
