Are there some bands or genre's who you're more likely to listen to in one place and not another?

I like to listen to Hardcore Punk everywhere. But for some reason I just listen to Punk Rock inside my house.

I don't even bother putting Black Metal on my ipod because the only time I use that is when I'm at school, around other people, in the car, etc...and it's just too loud to enjoy the atmosphere of Black Metal nor do I feel I am in a suitable place. With Death Metal, everybody keeps talking to me or gets loud that I have to turn it up really loud so it sounds like one big gargled mess of roars in my ear, I don't like that. I listen to those in my room.

I find out in public and in cars and stuff, I listen to more rock music, that's not metal. For example, I've been listening to Funeral For A Friend's album "Hours" over and over, but not necessarily when I'm in my room. I think it's because when I'm hanging with friends, I am not really in the 'place' I want to be to dwell on the dark stuff Metal presents, I just like to hear a clear melody with some singing to keep my attention when I'm around crowds.

BQ: I didn't know you've been getting into fights, have you? Regardless, I believe you can stay away from fights. :) You are a very nice person, and you have your opinions and voice them quite clearly, but I think you personally can keep doing that without getting caught in a web of quarrels because you're not rude or mean. I BELIEVE IN YOU.

Okay, I like to listen to garage rock type stuff when I'm in the library doing homework. I know it sounds illogical, but it's the only thing that can really match my level of anger and frustration with schoolwork. And if I'm walking through the city, I usually have some form of electronic or hip-hop playing.

BQ: I never got into any fights on here! I don't plan on doing that either. I mean, I just try to stay out of when people douche off to one another. It's not my problem.

BA: It's a good goal to have. Good luck. I try not to pick fights on the internet, because I know that everytime you get into a fight with somebody online, there's a troll somewhere behind the scenes laughing his *** off, and I don't give trolls that kind of satisfaction.

Yeah when im in my room i listen to stuff like Bring me the Horizon, Job for a Cowboy, Metallica, The Beatles, Haste the Day, Carlos Santana etc. But everywhere i go people are always listening to rap and hip hop.

Same way here. I listen to metal, punk rock, and grunge in my room and on my iPod.

I have to listen to 80s R&B, Pop, and Gospel in the car because that's all my family likes. It's three against one.

BQ: Yeah, I think you can do it. You seem like a nice person. I agree, fights are sorta stupid here because you'll most likely never meet the person in real life. But I like the steps you're taking to avoid fighting!

I listen to metal, screamo, etc in my room with the lights off and the door and window closed. I listen to the Smiths with my window open and door closed. I only listen to David Bowie using headphones or earbuds, but never using proper speakers. I'm afraid doing it any other way will ruin the music for me.

No seriously, I like to listen to all kinds of music in my room in peace, rather than anywhere else where disturbances are way too common.
