Alright, I'm drawing a blank on this Horse Nutrition question?

Two vitamins that horses can NOT manufacture.

Seems like I should know this one, but it's late, and frankly none of my normal resources know either, so I don't feel so badly. And no, it's not for HOWrse or whatever that is called. It's a 4-H question my son needs to answer (well, him and about everyone else he has asked from the club, lol)

Update:

Thank you both! I'll let him know. :)

I am going to guess vitamins A and E because that is what is added to senior horse feed. So if they are not getting it from hay or grasses due to their teeth, it can't get processed in their gut without adding it to pellets. Wild guess tho. I now am going to find out for sure and get back in an edit.

    Edit:

A and E is correct. They cannot manufacture those two because they have to be extracted from plant matter.

Found this out in a really good article on the SmartPak website.

Hurry up and get that down on their 4-H workbooks. Been there! Judged 4-H projects for years too.

It is Vitamins A and E. I learned this from SmartPak Equine, where I purchase all my supplements. Like I have one horse on a multivitamin because he receives oats only, and my second horse is on an Omega-Flax based supplement that has added Vitamins A & E. So, there you go!
