The examiner actually wrote a half decent boxing article?

A friend sent this to me, agree, disagree, thoughts?

I agree this is a great neutral article about the fight and why it really may not happen, First off no one knows what Arum offered mayweather, what if he offered a 60-40 split in favor of pacquiao and mayweather as the biggest ppv draw in boxing turned it down? I can totally understand that in most cases few term in a boxers contract are known to the public, So go ahead pacriod fan and call the greatest boxer in the world a fraud, and in the same mind support pacquiao fighting a cotto again a fighter he has beaten or someone like clottey that no fans wants to see him fight and you see how many fans and pacriod supported that so put your money where your mouth is and buy his next terrible fight i doubt you will, But you will buy a mayweather to watch him lose and again who's the fool

A kind of agree with regards to the Mayweather-Arum dilemma, but the writer actually does not take into account that Manny is a Congressman now.

He can quit any time now because he can already proceed to the career change he has been wanting. My point is, Manny is probably not as interested in the Mayweather fight as compared to Mayweather, but he is probably pushing for it as a farewell fight for his fans worldwide. Though you can say that Arum can milk Pacquiao in November and milk him again in May with Mayweather, Pacquiao can quit anytime after his fight in November. I do not know how long Pacquiao is contracted by Arum, but if Mayweather can buy his "freedom" when he wasn't the boxing superstar as he is now, the more superstar Manny can easily buy his "freedom."

That's why I want Floyd to sign NOW. Drop all the bullshit (from both camps) and just fight with the standard rules. Boxing is about to become secondary for Manny. Floyd will not get another payday as big as this one. I really can't see any other legitimate excuse aside from pride (or fear).

I agree with Marley's take that the Mayweather-Arum hatred for each other really places unneccesary obstacles in place that don't need be and makes the fight almost damned impossible to come to terms. I don't agree that it's a race issue. Mayweather and Arum just hate each other, nothing more, nothing less and neither want to seem like they're bending into the other's will.
