Why are they rebooting the Spider-Man movies?
Is there a reason why Sony (I believe it's Sony doing it) is redoing the Spider-Man franchise? Was there a financial issue?
I heard there wouldn't be a fourth Spider-Man but it doesn't seem old enough to redo.
What should we expect in the new film?
So why are they rebooting the movie(s)?

The main reason is simple.
Earlier this year Sam Ramni announced spliting with SONY pictures over demands for a part 4.
IMMEDIATELY, Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst dropped out saying they would not do Spiderman without Ramni
SONY had planned 3 more movies but now they had to make a choice... Recast the entire series and do 3 more sequels... or reboot.

"Sony Pictures announced in January 2010 that plans for Spider-Man 4 had been cancelled due to Raimi's withdrawal from the project. Raimi reportedly ended his participation due to doubt that he could meet the planned May 6, 2011 release date while upholding the film creatively."

it probably has to do with Tobey Maquire and Sam Raimi are no longer involved, and the studio is attempting to keep it fresh and new by adding a false sense of renewal into the franchise. Similar to what marvel Comics did to the "Ultimate" universe line of comics.

Cause they cant think of any other movie ideas probably.. no one is original now-a-days :(
