Breech baby at 33 weeks - likelihood of turning?
Ok, so I will be 33 weeks pregnant on Saturday and my baby boy is still comfortably in the breech position. He has been that way for quite some time now (every scan or obst. appointment in fact).
I was just curious as to other people's experiences - was your baby still in the breech position at this stage and turned? Or not? My daughter was born at 36 weeks, so I guess I'm a little concerned that he may come early and still be in the breech position. I am not keen to have a vaginal breech birth.
I should add, that my daughter was head down very early on.

You just never know what those little monkey's can do in there... you really don't.
My son was head down for my entire pregnancy and at my 38 week checkup we discovered that he somehow managed to flip completely breech... totally upside down, in a matter of the 6 days it had been since my last appointment where he was head down. I did not get the option of delivering vaginally with him being breech... my doctor just didn't do that, so I was scheduled for C-Section.
Ask your doctor about things you can do to turn the baby and you can also check out the website spinningbabies.com ... There are techniques you can use to encourage the baby to turn.
At 33 weeks I belive the baby still has enough room to turn... they don't usually settle into their final delivery position until about 34-37 weeks. After that point you can assume they aren't turning back, but like I said, my son flipped at 38 weeks so anything is possible!
Good luck!

My baby turned like crazy. He was head down very early, but turned completely breech around 33 weeks and stayed that way until 37 weeks. My doctor gave me some good pointers about turning the baby yourself and it really worked. She said to get on all fours and go forward, then backward, over and over. The next week my baby was head down, it also helps start labor so be careful!

i'm 39 weeks right now, at every sonogram up until 33 weeks my baby was comfortable breech. at 35 weeks he was head down and down low, so there is still plenty of time. :) i was really nervous because i really want to deliver naturally also but he turned all by himself!

You're not officially considered breech until your 37 weeks -
