why can't I build a windmill on my property?

i don't care about environmentalism. I just want to save some money. My house is in the country. I want a windmill. The town says "no can do" because it's too tall and will ugly up the scenery. Someone tell me how I can win? Seriously! I can't use a windmill for "green" energy. But, Electricity from coal is "BAD".

THERE IS NO WAY TO WIN!

Update:

LOL true, Alexia I'm in the usa which claims to be trying to "go green" but.. why make it so damn hard?

Update 2:

LOL I appreciate the responses but, seriously! If we are supposed to go "green" why make it so hard?! I just want a windmill! I'd even go solar if it was worth it!

Update 3:

my point is that I should not need a lawyer to put up a windmill. I currently use coal energy which is bad. I want to change to wind energy, which is good. My town says "windmills are ugly" so... ???

You need to find a lawyer familiar with the town rules who can find you a loophole and file the appropriate paperwork to accomplish your objective.

If it's just the town saying "no", and there's no laws or ordinances prohibiting the windmill (just a bunch of bitchy jealous neighbors), then screw them -- there's nothing they can do to stop you or force you to take it down.

Have you looked into the expenses of building a windmill? If you can afford it, and that is what you want to do with your money, then I'm sure you can go down to the County Clerks Office and find out what is up. If there are legal reasons preventing you probably need a lawyer which is another large expense. You have to ask yourself if right now this is worth the price/risk?

USA can never go green.... EVER there favourite truck is the Ford F-150 and unless Canada removes NAFTA and you guys get $4-7p/l for gasoline/oil/diesel then you guys will stay oily.

Source(s): Canada holds higher cards then the US.

You don't live in Holland. That's where windmills live.
