I am not sure if you aware that "teal ribbons" are the ovarian cancer "cause" ribbon. So what I would do is get some rolls of teal ribbon - different patterns (like stripped, polka dot, leopard, checkered - you get the picture) and glue them down on the table cloths randomly. And I would get a blank piece of styrofoam and cut out a "cause" ribbon out of it (you know it's that single piece of ribbon that just loops over one time over the center) and I would either spray paint (be careful - there are special paints for styrofoam or it will melt) it teal and then put maybe some white silk flowers glued onto the ribbon, or put them in some low glass / plastic clear bowl and float some candles or flowers or just shiney beads around the base of the "cause" ribbon.

Now another idea I have is to get 3 different sizes of those round styrofoam pieces so they could be stacked up like a wedding cake (or you could "tier" them with plastic champagne glasses also like a wedding cake and then make some Royal Icing (and maybe you have a cake decorator that could do this) and keep them white, but put teal borders around each cake's edges like they are decorated cakes. And, if you want to take the cake thing a step further - get some teal birthday candles - because as survivors - we have birthdays to commemerate our survivals. And whoever is doing the cake decorating on these center pieces could always put some small teal cause ribbons on the sides or tops for further decoration effects.

Oh, and to get the recipe for Royal Icing - go to www.wilton.com. They also make teal colored food coloring paste. So, get some of that too. You could probably do these centerpieces for a couple bucks. I haven't prices styrofoam in awhile, but I don't think it's much.

Well, good luck and hope your fundraiser goes well. Oh, another thought. if this is a fundraiser that is for others too, you could always write names on those "ribbons" on your centerpieces with ovarian cancer patients too. Just a thought. (PS - I'm a breast cancer suvivor) Best of luck to you too!

    Teal Table Decorations

Ovarian cancer is Teal ribbon (you know, like pink ribbon for breast cancer awareness).

The general flower for cancer awareness is the daffodil.

So what I would be inclined to do would be white tablecloths, with small vases with daffodils in them and teal ribbons tied around the vases. Alternate the vases with glass candle holders with tea lights in them to represent those that have not survived the cancer(candles are a universal symbol of remembrance for the dead)

If you are having cloth napkins tie them with teal ribbons.

If the budget will stretch far enough, get some plain teal table runners too- you can make them easily enough with a couple of metres of teal cotton and a sewing machine (just stitch up rectangles)
