Why is it necessary for the Creator to judge its creation?

I’ve been told that my sin nature makes me “not good enough” for God unless I’m saved. That doesn’t make any sense. God is PERFECT, right? So why would God create something with the POTENTIAL to fail him! That doesn’t make any sense at all! A PERFECT being would NOT do that! There is no logic, reason, or emotion that can rationalize or justify why a perfect being would create something with the potential to fail him UNLESS that failure was part of his plan and that is just sadistic!

So why is it necessary for the creator to judge its creation? Can the creation exceed the expectations of its design? Of course not! And, the only reason it may not meet those expectations is poor craftsmanship, LOL!

Put on your armor, mount your steed, and let the intellectual jousting begin!

I agree with you. If your creation is messed up it's on you. Even if your creation manages to mess itself up it can only be because of a flaw in it's design.

Bronze Age logic is not very reliable, especially out of the mouths of superstitious philosophers. It seems remarkable to me that intelligent people in the 21st century still give credence to the conflicting magical mysteries of an ancient people. Perhaps it has something to do with indoctrination from birth, or perhaps there is a God gene. Whatever the reason, religion provides a good living for its leaders, many of whom consider the idea of God is more important than the facts about Him.

There are so many conflicting opinions among the faithful, so, only the words of their Bible should be meaningful. Unfortunately there is a difference of opinion in the books of the Bible, for instance God Himself appears to have two conflicting personalities. Is it the God of the New Testament or the God of the old who judges His creation. Personally I would prefer the more compassionate God of the New Testament, that is if I believed He existed.

Why would a loving and forgiving god throw people into hell for making mistakes?

If God is truly infinite, then there is not the smallest place, nor the shortest moment where God is absent. God, to be truly infinite, must (by definition) be everywhere, all times, with all life. There can be nothing that is not God, nothing that is not made of God, because in the beginning there was only God and nothing else - pure creativity. God already filled all of existence.

There couldn’t have been any room left over because if there was, then God wasn’t infinite. Thus, God only had Itself out of which to make everything God created and thus, despite the illusion of separateness, we can not actually be separate from God because there is nowhere else to be separate from God.So God would be judging it self would it not ?

I agree with your statements within you question to a point.

God created all of creation, and we are a part of it, and God is a part of us.

However, as I understand it, humans got a little special treatment: (1) intellect and (2) free will.

Now this could also be arrogance on our part. After all we could be just a freak of nature resulting from God creating everything, and we just came out of that experiment.

Now taking that a step further, I think that we tend to view good and evil as God vs. Satan (Christian/Islamic theology). Although that's a convenient explanation, it remains unproven.

What is proven by our own recorded history, is that the human intellect is capable of conceiving of great good, and of great evil. And it is that which defines "free will" inside of each of us.

Now to answer the other part of your question: "How can a creator judge that which he intentionally created to be imperfect -- and capable of failure?"

Its not an easy question to answer because we only see 1/2 of the equation here. How we view God, and how God views us are two different perspectives. We aren't necessarily allowed to know what God sees in us well until the so-called judgment day whether its of each of us or all of humanity at once.

But what I can say is that if we follow what I believe to be the universal message, that carried across parts of Buddhism, Judaism and even Christianity -- we are to (1) love God and (2) love one another without judgment or hypocrisy (which means treating each other as we would have the others treat ourselves, and as we would love ourselves).

In this spirit, I think that was the message. He never intended us to be perfect beings. The entire story of Genesis and original sin and such are nothing more than scriptural wisdom similar to all other religions who try and explain how everything came into being.

But it is that cautionary tale, that even the most innocent baby ever born, is still guilty of sin because each human is capable of committing it, if even only in their heart (that is without acting on an evil thought).

That is the internal struggle of all human beings. The decision to follow the path of righteousness or that of evil. Righteousness does not equate to perfection. It means doing what you believe is right when you listen to God in your own heart.

Anyway, maybe that's the best explanation I can give, but its the best answer I can articulate. Theologians have struggled for thousands of years to explain the answer to this question. Many have tried to argue their conclusions based upon the constrictions of scriptural based arguments.

I am largely ignoring scriptural arguments, with only a reference to 1 Genesis merely to point to something that begins in the Old Testament and has been argued since.

The many answers here represent different denominations, all having a different faith. If they all had only one gospel Jesus gave to mankind, then they would all be talking the same language with the same faith. Is God a divided God? These many so called Christians depict God as one by their many confused words.

Listen, God created man with his own will, and He wanted him to out of own volition find God and worship Him alone. In other words, God put a fork in the road and gave the decision to man. He told them where each road leads to, and if he chose the one that leads to the righteous path, then he would not be judged, but if he chose the one that leads to hell, then he would be judged...simple really don't you think?

So if you have chosen the path that God said you must not walk on, then you will be judged.

God is perfect yes , you ask why is it necessary for him to judge us here's what I believe:

For 2 reasons because he created us and blessed us in many ways so we owe it to him AND cause we ( his creation) have a mind and a fee will . God intentionally created us imperfect and gave us free will . As a muslim I don't believe in the whole " I'm not good enough unless I'm saved " ..we are not saved , WE SAVE OURSELVES if we succeed to see our imperfections and work on them , of course we'll never comletely succeed in doing that we'll still be imperfect but we'll reach our full capacity and that IS GOOD ENOUGH for god. We're all sinners no matter how hard we try .God loves our humanity.

(excuse my english I'm egyptian and that may have contributed to me misunderstanding some points you mentioned)

God being perfect, created man into His image, which would also include that mankind would have the free will to chose to obey Him, or not, otherwise our Lord would not be perfect in love but a dictator, which would not let mankind chose to listen to His Word, or to disobey Therefore because He is our creator also has the right to judge us in rightenous

His creation he judge good. At death a human is judged for his relationship with God through his life and at death. These are an indicator of whether you have decided to reject God or are willing to accept him. You will not be forced to be with him for eternity against your will.

Your bad habits are not the fault of your parents nor is God to blame that you got pregnant even with your birth control. What are you responsible for that is not the fault of someone else?

The answer is freedom of choice. Are you familiar with the war in Heaven? Lucifer, once a high angel, was cast out for his rebellion, and he rebelled because his plan to take away the agency of man was rejected. He offered to ensure that everyone would make it back to Heaven if he was given the glory of God. His plan was to take away or freedom to choose and act for ourselves. Jesus had already been chosen, and the chosen plan is that all spirits receive freedom to choose good or evil, and those that choose evil receive evil, and those who choose good receive the supreme and everlasting reward that comes from doing so. Without freedom to choose we could not be tested and therefore we could not progress. The work and glory of God is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.

Judgement, for redemption became necessary as,to not destroy what God had created, not because it was part of his plan.God cast Lucifer from "Gods Mountain(kingdom),and in between the stones fire(earth)(another story),where he was able to corrupt Adam,as Adam was now of the earth also and of course we know he succeeded, before he was corrupted,Adam, was perfect as Lucifer, now both were w/ sin,in order to destroy sin God would have to destroy both of them, and he did not wish to destroy the one he loved,(Adam),so God came up w/ the plan of salvation, instead of destroying them.Because now all would have sin, years later he would send Jesus(God in the flesh)to take all these sins on,and only through him could you get to heaven, because as you say "we are not good enough"which is correct,so on judgement day all those who believed in the redemption would be saved. It became necessary.God blessed his creatures w/ free will, which allowed this to happen, making people just to worship you like robots,I do not believe would, please any God,which is why we have choice.

It's a paradox which has wasted the time of generations of humans. The wise have moved on. The foolish still believe.
