Does anyone have a guide to Jeep body panels.?

I was given a rusty old jeep. Would like to restore it by myself, and a little help from a buddy. Need to know the names of the body panels I need to order to fix the rust and dents.

both me and my friend are ase certified automotive technicians as well as code g welders for the army plenty of experience

just first time working with a jeep its a cj5 btw 1979 with the original amc 304 motor dana 20 transfer borg warner t150 and amc 20 axles f&r

    === google search <<jeep body panel photos>> and it is there for you -- also it is possible the JCWhitney (( www.jcw.com)) company has sources for those old parts that are spec. new and that might help you to replace what cannot be fixed.... g-luck

    Some old Jeeps are really easy to source parts for because old 1950s style Jeeps are still made in the Philipines and India. But you have to know what year & model, and you didn't tell us that.

  • Go to carfax and search the VIN to find out the year and model. Barnes and Noble sells a few Jeep restoration manuals. If neither of you are mechanically inclined, you'll want to get it professionally done or get a mechanic friend to help you. And please, don't screw it up. Jeeps are a real car.
