to be honest, as far as i know ever one has a slight chance of producing babies that have down syn, as you get older they say the chance of it happening is slightly higher. i had a baby last year, and when i was pregnant (even though i was only 25) they now offer a screening test when you are around 16 weeks, i chose not to take part in this as i find pregnancy stressful enough without stressing over that as well! my advice would be not to worry nature will take its course! i am really sorry for your loss, and wish you great luck for next time.x.

If you use your own eggs then the chances are the same as if you conceived naturally. If you are planning on having IVF then you may choose to use donor eggs that are from a women younger than you are, this may lower your chances.

If you do use your own eggs then you can have tests done by a geneticist that will tell your your chances of having a child that is born with a multitude of illnesses.

good luck whichever way you choose.

I was reading about a lady in the UK who had twins via IVF. One has Down syndrome and the other doesn't.
