Utorrent is actually a legit software. It may be corrupt or the download may have been from an illegitimate location. Unfortunately utorrent, by default, starts with the computer.

If utorrent is your problem, then all is well. All you do is start your computer in safe mode and uninstall the program in safe mode. Then restart.

You start your computer in safe mode by tapping the F8 key while your computer starts up. Sometimes it can be tricky since the correct time is between the bios starting and windows starting. But, if it is don ein time, then a menu will pop up and one of the options is to start in safe mode (you dont want command).

You then wait as it goes through all of the loading stuff and then finally it will take you to your desktop in safe mode (it may look weird since it bypasses drivers and startup stuff). Then go to Start->control panel->programs (or add remove programs or ...and features) and uninstall utorrent. Restart the computer, install a free antivirus like Avast! and a free antimalware like Malaware. Both are free and can be downloaded from http://www.avast.com/index & http://www.malwarebytes.org/ respectively.

I must say though that your problem sounds more like a video card problem or something that suddenly happened with a driver corruption or a drive corruption where the drivers are installed. If you do not see your bios start up, then it is a hardware issue or something could be wrong on the video side (maybe even a loose plug from monitor to pc).

It's not cheaper to buy a new computer than fix the old one. That's throwaway mentality and one of the problems with society these days.Try rebooting in safe mode (http://www.laplink.com/support/kb/article.asp?ID=1... Reboot and repeatedly hit F8. Everyone should have an anti-virus program so you should go out and buy one even if you do end up getting a new machine. I use Webroot and it's rated as among the best. If you can get your machine to run in safe mode, download the anti-virus from the CD and run a scan in safe mode. It should find the virus. If not you may have to connect to the web to download new definitions. Do this all in safe mode. If all else fails get a new hard drive and reload Windows. New hard drives should be ordered from reputable merchants who can help you get the right one to use with your motherboard. I patronize Globalcomputer.com. Hopefully you have a copy of windows on a disc - should have come with the computer, or not - I never buy a computer with a version of Windows that I don't already have unless it comes with the OS on a disc. Another option is, if you do have Windows on a disc, is to put it in the drive and restart. You will have an option to boot from disc. Do that and follow instructions to do a "clean install" - delete the old version of windows and start from scratch. This is also a "if all else fails" option as you will loose all your files. Good luck.

what that type of issue happens, the best thing to do is do a restore, most Dell's come with a seperate partition on the hard drive called recovery. when you turn on the pc it ask to press an F key to restore. or You can just buy window 7 and an anti-virus program and start from scratch. good luck

You should have been running a free anti-virus, and not riding bareback on the Internet. Setting up a limited user account is almost a requirement for web surfing when using a Microsoft operating system.

Wipe your hard drive to be certain you have eliminated any stealth viruses that can hide from a microsoft format of your hard drive, or use a new drive. Download "Darik's Boot and Nuke" (dban) and burn to floppy or CD. You need boot from this media ... Ensure that there is ONLY the one hard drive connected in the system (because it will nuke every hard drive attached including USB drives and flash media), type in "autonuke" and press Enter and let it run. This will ensure a clean and properly prepared hard drive for a "next life". You may wish to run a diagnostic utility to test the drive. Then begin the Microsoft operating system install with a partition and format using the recovery media and motherboard drivers.

After reinstalling your operating system and software, and then scan every data file with a good anti-viral package before you place it on your newly formated hard drive. 6 years ago it took about 40 minutes to be found running a unprotected computer, today the criminals are running scans 24 hours a day looking for unprotected systems, and it is rumored it only takes a bout 10 minutes to infect your computer system and turn it into a re-mailer zombie (Spamming system).

if you can't use your computer in anyway, you need to find a copy of windows xp, and at start up you need to press f12 or some function key to take you to boot, then make sure the disk is in, and choose either of the format options. this will wipe your hdd clean and remove anything on there and restore everything to factory settings, so if there is anything on your computer which you need, then you will probably of lost it
