What do Buddhists think of ghosts and dream premonitions ?
I'm very much interested in Buddhism, but as a Pagan I need to know what the view of ghosts and dream premonitions are in the Buddhist faith are. Any thoughts?

There are many branches of Buddhism.
In oldest ways and studies of Buddhism they know that a 'ghost' is an etheric body (layer of energy) that detaches from the physical body which has died. This etheric lingers around for a while and can be drawn to the relatives and people they knew or have a connection with by magnetism. Etheric can be well visible to anyone under certain weather conditions and also many can see this energy layer around the living bodies (I can). Etheric is not to be confused with aura.
So, after a while this 'ghost' dissipates (more or less three days, or depending on the individual who died).
They don't confuse 'ghost' with a 'spirit or soul'. Soul is immortal. It goes 'home' as soon as the physical body is discarded. Depending on a state of this soul's evolution - they can choose to incarnate again on Earth after a while or straight away. Souls don't wonder around haunting, they have better things to do.
Their explanation of dreams is the following:
When physical body sleeps - astral body travels. We go places in the astral and meet with others, see and do things. Some people that are responsible and of pure intentions can see the events that will take place. These special people can come back to their physical and bring some memories of what they saw (so called premonitions).
For most of us the art of CONSCIOUS astral travelling is lost over the time, so for most of us dreams are just highly distorted fragments of our experiences in the astral during sleep of our physical bodies.
In Buddhism all this is not a faith. It's a knowledge and most of highly trained could see auras, do conscious astral travelling and much more.

Don't know if it's specific to Buddhists, but I know that ghosts are essentially visions of a deceased person, almost like an imprint left upon the Earth. As for dreams, that's all interpretive, it depends the dream and certain factors in it as to whether it's just random thoughts or actual premonitions of future events. I have had some dreams when I was 10 or 12 that when I was 20-22 remembered and realized that I had dreamed the events I was doing. I tend to follow Buddhist beliefs, but I wouldn't exactly say I'm a pure Buddhist either.

Depending on the sect of Buddhism there is symbolism in re-incarnation through mythology.
Often cited as the worst is ''hungry ghosts'' who basically can never be happy of what they have, i dunno where the exact mythology comes from as it deals with being reborn as a God/Demon/Ghost which is somewhat contrary to The Buddhas teachings so i'd assume its a mesh of two religions.
As for dream premonitions Buddhism deals with the human being & how to best live a life to full potential in peace with the universe, Buddha never spoke of higher forces (except Karma etc if that counts) or prophecies through visions. His only vision was of nothing (ie nirvana) which he described as an eternal place devout of feeling or physicalness basically as far as i'm aware Premonitions is outside the context of Buddhas teachings & subject to cultural belief

whilst those we like fall to the backside, they climb to acceptable rung on the ladder of our priorities, seldom leaving our innovations for extremely a selection minutes. i'm hoping this grew to become into basically a nightmare and that he has resolved to run from that monster called Temptation. i've got no longer forgotten him or you. God bless...
