Putting an RV cam in my 460????????

I'm doing a budget rebuild on my 93 460. I'm getting headers, and I've already got true duals cat-less exhaust and a home-made air intake. In the infinite quest for cheap power, I started looking into swapping out the stock cam for one out of a motorhome. I tow regularly and the torque gain should come in handy. Not really expecting any change in the horsepower department, but I'm not sure how much I'll gain in torque. With the current mods, I'm estimating the torque to be around 400 ft. lbs. Anyone done this? Anyone know anyone who's done this? A rough estimate would be great, but any thing is appreciated. Oh, almost forgot. I've got a 351 Windsor in a camper lined up, is it compatible? Thanks again guys

RV cams are typically very mild, sometimes even milder than stock. You'll gain a bit of torque, nothing terrible dramatic though, you'll lose some higher RPM horsepower, then engine will fall flat on it's face above 4000 RPM or so. The cam from a 351 won't work with a 460 and vice versa.

If I had to put a number on the torque gain, which is hard since you didn't give the specs of the cam. I would guesstimate maybe 20-30 ft.-bs. at low RPM, you'll probably drop the peak torque down a couple hundred RPM as well.
