  • What happened to the mahindra truck and suv?

I was thumbing through an old issue of Diesel Power, and saw in the news section, a small diesel powered mahindra truck, as well as an suv. I was interested by the prospect at the time, but never really gave it a second thought. Well, it's been awhile, so where's it at? Did they just ax the project?

  • Ok, so where's the Gallardo replacement?

So we now have the Aventador, which has taken the empty throne left by the Murcielago. The Murc was my childhood dream car, so I was a little sad when it was axed. But I've come around and I think I like new one better than the bat. But now I have to wonder, what about the Gallardo? Sure, it's gorgeous looks are matched by it's equally sweet engine noise, but it's starting to get on in years. The Ferrari 458 Italia, the McLaren MP-14C, these rivals have burst onto the scene and are a step ahead. The Gallardo is a gold mine for Lambo, best selling supercar I believe? So what's next? Another face lift, or a replacement? I appreciate it!

  • questions about designing my own car?

Alright, I have this dream about making my own car. Not just slapping a body kit on older car, I mean all-original car. What I want to do, is get the chassis of an older mustang, camaro, something rigid. Then find an old V6 from a Camry. I'm planning on this because they're friggin everywhere, relatively light, reliable, and front wheel drive. What I plan to do is turn the engine backwards, so it's rear-engined, rear wheel drive. Then build it up sort of like the Atom, kind of an exoskeleton. I have several designs for steering, pedals, brakes and such. I was going to make the body out of sheet metal, to keep it light. The only problem I can think of, aside from making it work, is getting it legalized. Could I possibly run it on a motorcycle tag? It will have blinkers and a 5 point harness, what else do I need? Thanks for the help guys!

  • need help jailbreaking recent OS Ipod touch?

I, like many other people, feel somewhat oppressed by Apple restraining what the frankly amazing piece of technology is capable of. So I went to jailbreakme.com, and was told that the version was too recent, I needed 4.0 at the very LATEST, I think I have 4.2. Now, while I'm relatively competent in the field of technology, this is over my head. Which is why I'm throwing myself at the mercy of your superior knowledge, only you can help me with this. I don't have Wi-Fi at my house, and would really prefer if everything wasn't erased, although I do have everything on my laptop, so guess it's not a huge problem. I really appreciate the help guys!

  • Any way to get classic games on my ipod touch?

While I've got a ton of games from iTunes, I still want some classic games on there. Anything like Super Mario Bros, any old pokemon or sonic game, I'd be happy with. ITunes doesn't have anything, so is there any safe sites that offer games for downloading to your ipod/iphone? I appreciate the help guys!

  • 28 outlaws on mountain trails?

My 05 Honda 500 4x4 has a 3 inch lift to accomodate the tires (I didn't pay for em). For my senior trip, me and my buddy are taking a tour of all the atv parks in Georgia. while these tires are good in the mud, they're useless at everything else. Once we get up to the northern part of the state, it's more mountain trails than mud pits. I was wondering if these tires would be alright, I don't really feel like buying more tires. I've rode mountain trails in North Carolina for around 10 years so I know how to handle myself, but I've only taken my 4 wheeler on light trails, the ones we've got in mind are apparently pretty mean. The only one that really worries me is Beasly Knob, the trails are all rated Difficult to Most Difficult. Would these tires be alright? The terrain is pretty rocky (judging by the pictures) and a little slick from leaves. Also, if anyone has actually been to Beasly Knob, that would be a great help, if you could tell me what to expect. I appreciate the answers guys!

  • 392 Hemi???????????????????

I've seen some buzz around this new Hemi. I just wanted to clear up some questions I have. Is this the replacement for the 6.1, or will it still be offered as a sort of "middle of the road" Hemi? I've also heard that the power output will be north of 500hp. I really hope this is true, so the Challenger can go toe to toe with the GT500 and the Z28. Is it NA or supercharged? Or is it too early to know? I appreciate the answers guys!

  • Will the Viper make a comeback?

I love the Viper. You could probably tell from my photo. Anyways, I was understandably saddened when it was axed. I read something however that gave me some hope. Some marine manufacturer whose name escapes me, is continuing operations at the plant where it's 8.4 liter V10 is built. Do they know something? I've also seen a couple of 2013 concept pics, but I'm not putting too much confidence into those yet. Anybody heard of anything? I'd appreciate it!

  • 5.0 liter Cummins V8?

I've heard some chatter about this, and looking in my old diesel power magazine it said Nissan vans were going to be equiped with these engines. It's been a while, and I've yet to hear anything. Did they just scrap the project or just keeping it under the radar? I heard this might be a possible engine choice for the 1/2 ton Ram, is this still feasible? Thanks for the help guys!

  • just wondering... would this work?

OK, we all know that an internal combustion engine operates by mixing fuel and air. Ideally, oxygen. But the standard atmosphere is filled with surprisingly low amounts of oxygen. We all also know that nitrous boosts power by carrying more oxygen than the standard atmosphere. So I was thinking, could you run a high-performance engine by injecting pure O2 into the carb/throttle body? Just keep a big tank with you? I do realize this is a bit of a fire-hazard, but lets not worry about that. I just want to know would this even work? Or would it all just explode and send bits of engine out the tailpipe? I'm just curious, thanks for answering!

  • 4 wheeler trail rides/parks in southeastern GA?

I'm looking around for a good big place to ride, preferable somewhere with lots of trails and camp-able. If you know of any, please share! I'm in Southeastern GA, Statesboro. I'd like to not have to drive more than 3-4 hours, if that helps any

  • will a F-150 bumper fit on my F-250?

I have a 93 F250 with a dented front bumper. I don't want to pay 120+ for a new one, so I was wondering will one from the same body style F150 fit? I can find a F150 a lot easier than a 250. I just thought I would check before I go and pull one off. Thanks for the help!

  • 12 valve cummins dowel pin issue? Dodgeman I need your advice?

My friend's 98 Cummins has over 200,000 miles on it, and he just moved onto a very rough dirt road. We never thought about it, but I read an article in my diesel magazine about the dowel pin causing the destruction of many a Cummins. Now he's freakin out because his truck fits the bill and his road is almost always wash-boardy and rutted out. We've inspected the crank housing and there's no cracks and there's nothing in the oil pan, so we're assuming the little bugger's still in there. He got to looking into the problem and now he's paranoid that each bump is gonna knock the thing loose. I know what can happen if the thing hits the crank gear at 2000 rpm, and he especially doesn't want to see his beloved Cummins sent to the scrap heap. He's considering buying the repair kit, and I was wondering how much work this is gonna be, I know the whole front of the truck and the engine have to come off, would it just be easier to take it in? Thanks for the help!

  • Who voices Brock Sampson on the Adult Swim show The Venture Bros.?

He sounds familiar, I know I've heard that voice somewhere before, but I cannot for the life of me figure out WHERE! If you could shed some light on the situation I would greatly appreciate it, maybe I could get some better sleep...

  • R12 to R134/A conversion?

My 93 F250's AC used to be fine, but yesterday, with a 106 heat index, IN TRAFFIC, it decided to pack up. So, I got the retro-fit adapter kit, 2 cans of the new refrigerant, and a can of the oil. I've heard you're supposed to change out the O-Rings, but I really don't feel like delving into the AC system. I just need it to last through the rest of the summer, I normally just leave the windows open other times. So, if I understand correctly, I dump the old R12 (I don't give a rat's rosy rear-end about the ozone, I know it's illegal) fill up with the oil, then top off the rest of the freon? I'm pretty certain I've got everything I need, I just want to know if this will work for another month or 2. Thanks for the help guys!

  • Putting an RV cam in my 460????????

I'm doing a budget rebuild on my 93 460. I'm getting headers, and I've already got true duals cat-less exhaust and a home-made air intake. In the infinite quest for cheap power, I started looking into swapping out the stock cam for one out of a motorhome. I tow regularly and the torque gain should come in handy. Not really expecting any change in the horsepower department, but I'm not sure how much I'll gain in torque. With the current mods, I'm estimating the torque to be around 400 ft. lbs. Anyone done this? Anyone know anyone who's done this? A rough estimate would be great, but any thing is appreciated. Oh, almost forgot. I've got a 351 Windsor in a camper lined up, is it compatible? Thanks again guys

  • Hemi Magnum good rental car?

Me and my 2 buddies are planning a trip to Orlando. Considering none of our trucks get more than 10MPG we decided to rent a car. We plan on staying for 4-5 days. We travel pretty light, but 3 suitcases do take up a fair bit of room. We're pretty big boys as well. We wanted something reasonably fast, as well as good interior space. We decided we would get a Hemi Magnum. The place has one we can use, and we live 50 miles from Savannah, GA so it's not like it's gonna take 8 hours to get there. I was just wondering before I get everything verified if this was a good choice. Anyone know of any problems with it? (Bad mileage, rough ride, uncomfortable seats, poor visibility, etc.) Any answers I'd appreciate. We leave in a few days so I'd like to make any changes soon. Thanks again!

  • 6.0 Powerstroke...worst diesel ever? witnessed explosion today...?

This happened to me today and it was so funny I just have to share it. There's a guy in town, I've seen him before. It's a jacked up F250, 4 inch lift, light bar on the roof, stacks, this guy thinks he's hot s***. He drives laying down with one hand propped on top of the steering wheel with his rap blaring. Well, I met him at the redlight today. It sounded like it was about to fall apart. He has "6.0" on the back glass next to Calvin taking a leak on the words CUMMINS and DURAMAX. I revved up my big block just to mess with him, and when the light turned green he took off. He got about ten feet when BOOM!!! BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG backfire out the stacks and horrible, God-awful noises. I turned on my PA system and rode by, cackling like an idiot. I almost ran over an old man because I was just cracking up. It made me wonder, is there a more crappy-built motor you've ever encountered? In your opinion, how bad is the 6.0? Anyone else had an experience like this? Please share!

  • Why did the Pantera die?

I was looking through my dad's old pictures, and discovered he actually owned a Pantera. I have to say, I was impressed. If I'm not mistaken, Ford billed it as a cheaper, simpler alternative to expensive finicky supercars like a Ferrari. How did they go wrong? Why did these seemingly amazing cars die out so quickly?

  • 1971 Road Runner restoration?

OK, I was driving along the other say and saw a BEAUTIFUL Road Runner and Duster sitting side by side under a lean-to. Me and my buddy went and talked to the guy, and he said we could have both of em for 250 bucks. I'm seriously considering buying it, our plan was for me to take the Runner and my buddy to take the Duster. But before I get in over my head, I'd like to know what I need. I work off my back porch, I have basic tools, socket sets, and a few others like vacuum guage, etc., is this too ambitious? I'd really like to keep the original engine, but the thing ain't been run in a while. Would it just be cheaper to get a new one? I was also thinking about a 4-wheel disc brake swap, how much would that run? I'm sorry for asking so many questions, it's just I've always wanted to do an old Mopar resoration, and now that the oppuritunity has presented itself, I don't want to pass it up. The car really is in good shape, almost certain it doesn't run, but the body looks new, no rust or dents or anything. Any body done a restoration like this? Any snags you've run into? Any insight would be appreciated!
