5.0 liter Cummins V8?

I've heard some chatter about this, and looking in my old diesel power magazine it said Nissan vans were going to be equiped with these engines. It's been a while, and I've yet to hear anything. Did they just scrap the project or just keeping it under the radar? I heard this might be a possible engine choice for the 1/2 ton Ram, is this still feasible? Thanks for the help guys!

ive heard same thing, and that the 1500 and durango were supposed to get a light duty cummins v8,and the dakota was to get a v6 cummins.however with fiat calling the shots i doubt thatd happen now since 2011 is supposed to be the last year for the dakota.i really hope the dakota isnt killed off,and the cummins engines are offered.

cant see the 5.0 in nissan vans unless you need to pull a house/maybe in pickups and not the 1/2 ton model/the weight alone is too much for the small apps/maybe 2.0 in smaller apps/

their coming out with a 4.2 diesel v-6 engine that they may possibly use in them, here's a site on them, they look small enough to put in a dakota or a ram, here's the site on it ,they say their going to use it in the 1500 series ram trucks, good luck, http://www.cumminsdieselspecs.com/v6_cummins.html
