Will the Viper make a comeback?
I love the Viper. You could probably tell from my photo. Anyways, I was understandably saddened when it was axed. I read something however that gave me some hope. Some marine manufacturer whose name escapes me, is continuing operations at the plant where it's 8.4 liter V10 is built. Do they know something? I've also seen a couple of 2013 concept pics, but I'm not putting too much confidence into those yet. Anybody heard of anything? I'd appreciate it!

the viper is a very elegant yet tough sports car,but that the category it fits in is a high end sports car and sport vehicle and with a price tag of above 80 grand and not to many people can afford them, and it doesn't always appeal to every driver looking for a sporty car,you either love it or hate it,most people that love it can't afford it and most people that hate it don't want it,so its in a category of its own,and only appeals to certain buyers, its over priced, will it make it ?depends on what the economy does, that's something that even the rich people are thinking about now, good luck

While the VIPER was a nice looking car and it improved over time, the production numbers were very small. The Corvette is the only two seater domestic to have survived the test of time. Dodge, like many other manufacturers have limited capital. So they have to deploy resources where they get the most bang for the money? That is why you see the Charger getting a total makeover and the Viper was killed.
Additionally, Vipers build quality was fair to poor. So, the cars that are being traded on the used market don't have the resale value you would hope for a car that cost 80-90,000 new.

The Viper returns in the summer of 2012 as a 2013 model. It's going to be a clean slate design not based on any other vehicle. The engine of choice is not publically known yet.
