Moving to Tulsa Oklahoma?

I moved from Seattle, WA, to Devils Lake North Dakota when I was 13.

Now I'm moving to Tulsa at 19 years old.

Any tips on the city and/or moving tips?

U-Haul is the cheapest way to go.

The south side of Tulsa is safest; Broken Arrow (a suburb) is even safer.

It's awfully hot right now...high 90's...August is usually in the 100's. So good working air conditioning in your vehicle is a necessity...sun glasses a must. You'll be happier at Christmas time when you only need a heavy sweater.

The city is a very friendly one...and clean. Also, it has expanded a lot in the last 20 yrs so there are a lot of new developments and apartments.

I moved here from upstate NY where the scenery is outstanding. Tulsa is a well-landscaped city and is mostly flat...but not known for its scenic beauty.

There are restaurants on every corner and Tulsans eat out a lot. There are also a lot of stores and quite a few malls. It's a great place to shop.

There are quite a few branches of Tulsa Community College, and a number of tech schools (welding, aeronautics, etc.) and colleges. (TU, ORU, OSU, etc.)

Because Tulsa is part of the Bible belt, there are all kinds of churches, including mega-churches, and Bible schools. It is not uncommon to see someone with a Bible or families praying over their meals at a restaurant.

There are also plenty of places to party, but that would be something you could look into when you meet new friends. There are also plenty of game arcade type places, paint ball, etc.

I've lived in Tulsa, so I can honestly say I'm sorry. The good thing is that you can enroll in a college somewhere else.
