Where can I find a replacement mattress?
I already have a frame, box, mattress, etc. The bed is uncomfortable. Is the mattress the only thing I need to replace? I'd like to get something nice, not just the bare minimum. Where is a good place to get a decent mattress and how much should I expect to spend? (i.e. are the advertisements for $150 pillow-top mattress legitimate?)

You have to spend more than $150. Go to Macy's, look there. Sleepy's, 1800MATRES, any place that sells bedding except those fly by night wholesalers. Those matresses are sometimes "reconditioned" new cover over old springs and padding. Yuch.

General rule is to never replace just the mattress - always buy as a set. Yes, you can buy individual pieces. But, a mattress is only as good as the boxspring it is on. Old and worn boxsprings will cause the new mattress to wear out.
Most of those cheap mattress sales are old springs/frames that have been recovered with new outer fabric.
Sams Club has good prices on mattresses. Around $500 will get you a decent queen-sized set. Not grand, but decent.
