Is there a way to add songs to your I-pod without syncing your I-Tunes library?

My I-tunes library was deleted somehow... Is there any way I can get new songs without syncing my whole library and deleting all my music on my I-pod? how it was deleted: I presses the Shift key and clicked on I-Tunes and I asks you if you want to create a new library or choose a library. Someone clicked create new and mine is gone or I don't know how to find it. I clicked on choose and found a old library but I had deleted half of those songs and only had like 20 of them and had all new songs... If you could help me get the old library back that would be great! I would still like to know how to add songs without getting rid of most my music. :D ~~~~~~ Thanks!

Yes, if you directly click sync, it will erase all music on the iPod and replace with the content of your iTunes library.
