Get some goo gone or simmilar product.
DO NOT USE AN EXACTO-KNIFE OR BLADE!
Instead try to get a plastic blade (go into your car or motorcycle dealership and ask if you can buy or borrow one from their detailing department.) I used to detail cars and these work wonderfull for getting stickers off without risking damaging paint!

Available in home improvement and hardware stores. Called Goof Off. It's mostly for removing paint, but it works to soften up stickers for easier removal. There's also a product called Orange Goo, or Goo Gone, or some dumb name like that..Spray it on, wait awhile, and etc. etc.
Always test it in a small mostly out of sight area on the tank first, in case of chemical reactions...

Hair dryer - heat up the sticker and slowly peel it off from a corner.
Goof Off or WD-40 for the sticky stuff.
Wash the bike immediately afterwards to remove the goof off.

The dealership where I bought my car took stickers off using fishing line. Not sure how they did it but it worked really good.

An X-acto blade to gently start with and a little acetone on a rag to help things along. Have plenty of clean rags handy!

Goo-Gone, available at Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Rona, Home Hardware, Zellers, etc.
Costs about $4.00.

They make a spray that you can buy at the auto parts store. I am not sure of the name of it, I think you can get it a Walmart also,
