What is your favourite JAZZ song?
Haha I need some more Jazz music :)
My favourite (as a trombone player) would have to be: The Very Thought of You by J.J Johnson :)

My favorite jazz song is probably "Blue in Green" on the Miles Davis album Kind of Blue. There's a debate whether Miles wrote that song or if it was the pianist Bill Evans. John Coltrane's solo on Blue in Green has made me cry before; I'm not kidding.
"Self Portrait in Three Colors" by Charles Mingus from the Mingus Ah Um album. Willie Denis (trombone) is on that track and 3 other songs on the album. He doesn't solo though.
"Mr. CLean" from the Freddie Hubbard album Straight Life. Hubbard signature song is Red Clay. You can hear this on youtube also.
"Generique" by Miles Davis (can see this on youtube)
"Come Rain or Come Shine" on the Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers album Moanin. If you like horns, you can probably hear a lot of possibilities with what a trombone player might contribute to this kind of medium tempo blues. Lee Morgan is on trumpet and Benny Golson on t-sax.

It depends on the jazz style you like the most.
For instance, i can suggest you the next albums, if you still haven't heard them:
-Time Out - Dave Brubeck Quartet
-Kind Of Blue - Miles Davis
-Birth Of The Cool - Miles Davis
-Giant Steps - John Coltrane
-Blue Train - John Coltrane (Look at the Trombonist of this album, he's really good at solos)
-Wave - Antonio Carlos Jobim
-Gold - Stan Getz
If you want to talk with a sax player about jazz, just send me a mail =)
Greetings
If you are looking specifically for names, i'd list these songs as my actual favorites:
1- Strange Meadowlark - Dave Brubeck
2-All Blues- Miles Davis
3- I'm Old Fasioned- John Coltrane
4-Blue In Green-Miles Davis+Bill Evans
5-Blue Rondo à La Turk- Dave Brubeck
6-Stella By Starlight- Stan Getz

That was the first song I ever made love to - it's wonderful and I'll always remember it.
So hard to pick just one favorite - Green Dolphin Street, The Best is Yet to Come, Willow Weep for Me, God Bless the Child, St. Thomas, Night and Day, Harlem Nocturne, Take the A Train, Moanin' (by Lambert, Henricks and Ross)....

I love Birdland. I also really like In a Mellow Tone, Giant Steps, Anthropology (Charlie Parker), Four (Miles Davis), and Toy (Dizzy Gillespie). This question is impossible for a real jazz lover to answer in one song.lol

Love Misti (as a classic). I love "a girl from epanima." Jamie Cullum has some really great songs. You might have heard some on the radio. I like his, "back to the ground." That is more contemporary of course.

It'd probably be Spain by Chick Corea. I almost cried like a fool when I first heard it.
