What is your opinion regarding this? I am curious?
How do you feel about the debate over building a mosque at Ground Zero the sight of the attacks on 9-11? Some are asking the government to step in and prevent construction though it has been approved.
Personally, as an American who though I disagree with many of the practices of modern Islam I find this shameful. This country was built on the notion of freedom of relgiion, meaning this would clearly be illegal.
I would like your thoughts on this issue..and NOT whether or not 911 was done by Muslims. I know most of you do not believe it was. It was either a CIA Mossad plot or those men werent really Muslims cos of what they did. I have heard it all before. Stick to the topic please.
I really want to hear Muslims perspective.

Abdulmalik read the question properly, she is saying she finds it shameful that people are fighting against building the mosque because it infringes on rights of religion. I'm against building it because it isn't going to help bridge the gap of misconceptions about Islam or help the community heal as they claim since most Americans do believe Muslims did it. I think based on those claims it is a slap in the face to those who died and their families.
If they just want to build the center to build it without those claims then I don't see what the problem is.

If you wanna hear my opinion, I am Muslim, I think the biggest thing in America is freedom, so they shouldn't prevent us from building a mosque. As you see everyday there are churches in nearly every street, there are Jewish temples and a lot more. So we should have a right to build mosques too.

I am european muslim. I do what I think is right in my house. In your house you do what you want.
It will be done what God wants and then what americans want.
I do not know who did 911. But I was really sorry and horrified as I was in the tsunami, as I was in the earthquake of Italy, Aquila.

I find it insulting as an American and as a Muslim. But it has been my opinion that it seems freedom of religion only applies to Christians and possibly Jews. Freedom of religion doesn't seem to really apply for other religions.

i think muslims want it there, as a sign of respect. a mosque is place of respect or worship, and the muslims want it there for those reasons. i personally dont agree. i am a muslim and think its just unecessary to have it there. like...what are you trying to accomplish?
i've actually not heard of this before, its interesting.
