What do you do when you get on the computer?

Hi, Violet. I don't know about other people who read this category (# Home > All Categories > Computers & Internet > Security) but I guess there's some similarities among us here. I also have a home page that includes everything from world to local news, and technology. I have 2 working computers that I use and I have them set up differently, so one has the Yahoo page and one has my own design.

I check email and read up on things that interest me. I help other people with their computer problems, so I spend MUCH more time looking at computer forums than I ever would on MySpace, Twitter or FaceBook. The only reason I have accounts there is so I can answer other people's questions about how to use them!

I also use it a lot to look things up, like the dictionary or encyclopedia if something's in the news I should know more about, or if someone uses a word I don't know, and for crossword puzzle help etc.

I'm a member to a several online forums, where we talk(or answer ?'s) about whatever---each forum is specific to a certain subject, for the most part. I check those everyday. If your interested in something, such as:music, cars, scooters, video games, gardening, art, computers, conspiracies..lol, ANYTHING--- just type it in Google---such as "video game forum". You'll find a forum for it with people that you can talk about it with. Try it, if you haven't---if it wasn't for those, I would hardly be online as much. The forums I belong to or check out are: scooters---like 6 forums(I have a gas scooter), fireworks, Michigan sports forum, a few religous ones---I like to hear about stuff like that sometimes but I don't belong to them, and I check out a couple news forums---because I like to keep an eye on certain things, like the BP oil spill or stuff like that.

I 2nd shift, so I miss all the news. I subscribe to a few news channels on Youtube, that way I can sift through all the stuff I don't want to watch---rather than watch an hour long news show on TV. It saves time and frustration, to me anyway.

I do get on Youtube and look up stuff, and watch music videos on it.

Check Facebook.

I usually check the weather on the local news website.

There's a football forum specifically about Michigan football(college) that I check.

Yahoo answers, but not as much.

Hi.The first thing I do when I get on my computer is check my yahoo email and then go to the Verizon forums. Listening to music of course the whole time.
