Simple question (mainly for Liberals) What do you think of the Constitution?

Be honest, and PLEASE present examples.

This question is ONLY for those who have actually READ the Constitution.

Here is a link, in case you haven't...

http://www.usconstitution.net/const.html

Update:

Craig - By the standards of the time, yes... they would have been considered "liberal" because they did not agree with the MONARCHY that they were suppressed under.

I HOPE you are not admitting to support such a monarchy...

Update 2:

Franco Potanco - Explain the "misinterpretation" - If you read the Federalist Papers, you will find that Madison (the AUTHOR of the 2nd Amendment) CLEARLY states that INDIVIDUALS have the right to own and bare arms! PLEASE explain your position.

Update 3:

kat without a face - Did you not realize that there are more than 20 Amendments? THAT was the point...

Update 4:

Jack Smack - That is NOT accurate... The Magna Carta is A LOT older than the U.S. Constitution!

I have a copy of the Constitution sitting on the desk beside me right now. I have the utmost respect for it and for our Founding Fathers who had the foresight to set it out as a document which could be amended and grow as the needs of the country changed over time.

So yes, our government allows us to change our constitution. Which is the only reason why we have of the oldest constitutions in the history of a country. And that change is a good thing, but the process to change it is not efficient at all. It has to go through so much bureaucracy and fighting between republicans and democrats that it basically goes nowhere. So I believe that our constitution is outdated in some parts, not all.

It is just fine, could use some tweaks here and there cause that was a long time ago, but you will find that libs love the constitution and freedoms we should all enjoy, that is why we have so many constitutional lawyers even the aclu.

I'll tell you about the application not about the document itself, which is what counts.

It is, do what I say, not what I do, because if you got a politician following that document you win a prize.

Probably Ron Paul the only one following that document in goverment today, noone else cares about the original document but adding sh*t and ammendments to it

It's great.. except for the 2nd Amendment, as it has been misinterpreted and has led to millions of American deaths, as a result.

I love it and the person who wrote it. The men who drafted the constitution were some of the most liberal men of their time, and as a result we are the United States of America.

  • it's just a document.
