Braided Line and digging in.. ?
I have an abu baitcaster and have been having LOTs of problems with the line digging in lately. I also want to change the line to 30lb test instead the current 50lb test. I am currently using spiderwire and wanna change to powerpro 30lb. I am gonna use a monofilament backing hoping this will help with the digging in. Does ANYONE have any tips for preventing the digging in?? should i stick with the thicker diameter 50lb test.?.. Its drivin me nuts!
somebody please answer?

I use suffix 50 lb braid and don't have any problems. I don't know how much weight you're reeling in each time, but that may have something to do with it. The other possibility is that is was spooled to loose to begin with. I'm not sure that the mono as backing is going to help, either. Since mono does have stretch, it would be possible that the unevenness of the backing is going to further complicate matters.
