From seeing all of these bigots from both parties, has the politics section changed your view on the way you?

It just confirms that a lot of people make judgment calls based on doctored video, spin, campaign promises that the maker has no intention of keeping, and the old standby - cries of racism when things don't go their way. It's a reinforcement that acumen is not a requirement for the vote and, racism is perfectly acceptable. Our rotten system is as good as anyone else's rotten system. We are now in an era of getting votes at all costs - regardless of truth and integrity.

I am a Democrat and the racism by a small, but loud, portion of Republicans does not have an influence. If they make racist statements they are disqualifying themselves from being counted. America is a secular democracy more than a religious republic, and secular democracy's biggest enemy is bigotry.

No....because I know that there will always be bigots in the world.....from every race and every political party.

It just makes me sad about human beings in general....but not any particular political party.

As evolved as people try to present themselves to be, basically we are still clannish people who, admit it or not, tend to want to take care of their own kind.

Nope. I still have a lot of contempt for both major parties.

I've learned that an uncomfortably large number of people are rhetoric machines who don't even understand their own opinions.

I hate that word "bigot." People like to wield it like they're the arbiter of what is and isn't "bigoted." As if they've somehow reached the apex of knowledge.
