Tattoo is infected, need advice...?
Hi Guys
I got my 3rd tattoo on my stomach and this has become infected, I've spoke to the doc and he has given me antibiotics but I'm not sure if I can put anything on it to help clean it out? Any advice as to how to look after it?
Its my fault not the tattooist, I have used him for my other tattoo and I he opened a clean needle infront of me.

use something like dettol - you have to dilute it - or savlon or germeline cream, clean it carefully with warm water and clean cloth first, don't drink alcohol while on antibiotics as it lessons the effect I think and the worst case scenario is death by septicaemia - don't want to scare you but its true so keep it clean and take the whole course of antibiotics

Hi
Yes, best idea is the dettol I think. Diluted. Be careful as anti-biotics will do it no matter if you get it mega clean as they will strengthen your immune system & clear the bacteria out itself.
You should tell the tattooist as it could be his fault, the needles might be clean, but were his hands, did he use green soap to clean away the blood, the inks, were they clean, did he sterilise his grips tips etc.
On the other hand you could have stuck your finger up your cats bum & rubbed it on the wound. Theres many ways it can become infected, such as bacteria from your mouth, from dirt, not keeping the wound clean & changing bandage.
Good recovery cream is forgera & you can get it on www.lovetattooz.co.uk

Keep clean with dettol. Not neat dettol but a solution in water. Use a cotton wool pad and clean twice each day. Go to the tattooist and tell him you have been infected and you suspect that his needle was not clean. It could have been infected with HIV.
