97 chevy s10, 4cyl 2.2. 5 speed trans. Everytime I start it will idle high for about 15 secs then go down to normal. Everytime i shift gears it will idle high even though i am pressing on the cluth. When slowing down it will idle high until i come to a complete stop and remain parked for about 15 secs.

Sounds like the gas pedal isn't returning all the way which could be the throttle cable or the throttle body might need a good spray job with some carb cleaner. take off air cleaner and move linkages to see if they return freely. Bla-Bla-Bla
