  • changing instrument clusters?

I have an 06 HHR manual transmission and my instrument cluster is damaged. I am looking to replace it however I am wondering If its a direct swap or does it need to be programmed with the vin. Also is the mileage stored in the computer or the cluster itself. will my odometer reading still be the same or will it change to the donor vehicles mileage reading?? IF it needs to be programmed with the vin will that take care of the mileage or is a separate issue?

  • 1998 Ford Ranger manual trans?

Just did an auto to std swap. The mechanic didn't thighten the shifter and while driving it popped out. Since I was on the road i tried to put it back in and played with it trying to get it into gear. I believe I stuck it into two gears at the same time since even in neutral it would go forward and 1st seemed to be 3rd or higher. Went to garage and the mechanic just inserted a long screwdriver where the shifter goes and applied pressure a couples time and got it into neural. Charged me 50bucks for 5 mins. I just would want to know what he did in the trans to get it into neutral and unstuck out of the two gears since I tried for hours on the road?

  • How far apart do rafter have to be from each other?

I am constructing a 36' x 46' gable roof. I am considering of going all steel rather than timber. I'm using "c" channel steel for rafters and purl ins and zinc coated metal sheet on top. My concern is how many feet apart from each other should the rafters be placed? What type of trusses to weld? Over all will the steel outlast the lumber by a huge number of years? In this location there is no snow, no salt water and mostly hot climate and a few months of rainy season.

  • 97 s10 reving high as if the engine were extremely cold or the throttle cable were getting stuck.?

97 s10 4cyl 2.2l. Recently did a trans swap. Converted from auto to manual since then i've been having very high reving especially when pressing the clutch and changing gears. This high reving also occurs when the engine just started to matter how hot the engine is. it will still rev high. I have already changed the TPS and Air control sensor, Coolant Temp Sensor and the problem still exists.
