Why don't you believe in evolution?
I know why I believe in evolution. I know why it makes sense to me. After an afternoon on Youtube looking at the flawed arguments of people who do not understand evolution, I'm left with the opinion that people who do not believe evolution simply do not understand it. I'm sure that I am wrong. So, can anyone give me a rational, sensible argument against evolution that is not based on flawed logic or lies from creationists that will make me go "I didn't think of that."?
@ seeker of jehovah - Can I just confirm that the reason you don't believe in evolution is because the age of the Earth cannot be accurately determined? Can you explain how this has bearing on natural selection?
@Santa Rabbitus - Please expand on how years of biology education causes you to not believe in evolution? And don't mock the name, Astaroth is my taken name and I welcome intelligent answers.
@JUDE1415 - This is what I mean by flawed logic and not understanding evolution. Evolution has nothing to do with chance. 1:20million <>Nil, 1:20million=1:20million. This isn't difficult, it is basic maths. I am open-minded. If someone can find a proper flaw in evolution, I will denounce it immediately.

No, actually you are correct in your assessment. The ones that deny evolution simply do not understand it and this includes figures such as Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort. They had the nerve to alter "Origin of the Species" by Charles Darwin and yet they make the gross miscalculation of demanding a "crocoduck" to prove evolution. That simply proves that they STILL don't understand evolution.
@Seeker of Jehovah: "There are some similarities between birds and dinosaurs, and it is possible, they said, that birds and dinosaurs may have shared a common ancestor, such as the small, reptilian "thecodonts," which may then have evolved on separate evolutionary paths into birds, crocodiles and dinosaurs. The lung structure and physiology of crocodiles, in fact, is much more similar to dinosaurs than it is to birds."
This is from the article that you posted that states that birds didn't come from dinosaurs. This is how evolution works. Chimps and man have a COMMON ancestor and that common ancestor was an ape or monkey of some sorts. Creationists spin that around to mean that we come from chimps and that is not accurate. Now the common ancestor of birds and dinosaurs would most likely be called a "dinosaur" because of it's characteristics. It doesn't mean that a T-Rex turned into a bird any more than saying we come from apes means that a gorilla turned into a human.

regrettably, confident. i do no longer comprehend how they might handle the cognitive dissonance. you're no longer nicely-knowledgeable in view which you do no longer know that concept is the optimal point in technological know-how. it is not a wager. that's ignorant to assert "in simple terms an concept". the elementary ancestor of all apes (alongside with people and chimps) is a monkey and that is shown on your delight. It does not remember on the thought of evolution. that's a fact. Theories have not got info which basically applies in arithmetic. Theories have info. there isn't any info of a god of any style. Theories are falsifiable. it relatively is a function, no longer a trojan horse. If info is produced that shows yet another concept or this one desires modification, then we found out something and are grateful for it. faith does not have that function. And that's requred. So creation by making use of a god isn't able to being an concept. simply by fact the invention of mitochodrial DNA ancestry may well be desperate by making use of genetic mapping and we don't prefer bones to substantiate the thought. Theories make predictions and can be used to strengthen different theories and open up fullyyt new lines of inquiry. the thought of evolution is clever simply by fact is works, no longer inevitably provided that's fact. Evolution is fact yet organic determination is an concept. final analysis is that it fairly works. God as a proof does not artwork for us and is probably no longer an answer in that regard. Its an excuse to no longer think of roughly it.

There is one. The chance of a 6 digit lottery winning in a 49 number games is more than 1:20 million. In the minds of auditors--independent thinking persons who doubts everybody else--this is equivalent to nil, nada.
How about the chance of all the order in the universe existing because of chance? Nada, nil.
But, you won't believe this logic. Why? Because for people like you it was written thousands of years ago...
2 Timothy 4:3-4 (English Standard Version)
For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and( will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.
Again it is written...
2 Thessalonians 2:11 (American Standard Version)
And for this cause God sendeth them a working of error, that they should believe a lie.”

its not true
it is made up assumptions which are constantly proved to be wrong
it has serious flaws and uses seriously flawed logic
the age of the earth was assumed and was not backed up by any evidence
it was not tested nor was it observed
http://pubs.usgs.gov/gip/geotime/age.html
So far scientists have not found a way to determine the exact age of the Earth directly from Earth rocks because Earth's oldest rocks have been recycled and destroyed by the process of plate tectonics. If there are any of Earth's primordial rocks left in their original state, they have not yet been found. Nevertheless, scientists have been able to determine the probable age of the Solar System and to calculate an age for the Earth by assuming that the Earth and the rest of the solid bodies in the Solar System formed at the same time and are, therefore, of the same age.
there are thousands of examples of assumptions being declared as fact.
just because a group of men get together and say this is the way we believe it happened does not make it fact.
they claimed dinosaurs evolved into birds
yet real science says it did not happen that way

Farrah, to make your opinion count, I think you need to use better grammar. I have no clue what you're trying to say.
As for the question, I believe in evolution more than I believe in Adam and Eve. It just makes more sense, and the evidence is THERE so I can't help but believe.

Years of Biology education !! If you knew the transport mechanism from the nucleus into mitochondria by symport transport you would never again have doubts. Your lack of knowledge makes you secure, not your knowledge. You have the 'wisdom' of Avocado. All bluster.
And your 'name' tells me that the last thing you want is a real answer.

Evolution has happened and continues to happen, whether anyone believes in it or not.

I find life too short to be arguing over whose theory or whose religion is right.

I believe in evolution fully.

Because there's no need for "belief" in it. The evidence showing it correct is overwhelming, and looking at that evidence gives me knowledge it's correct, not "belief."
Peace.
