Leaving British Gas Fixed Price 2011 for another supplier?

Having been with British Gas for some some years for both electricity and gas supply, I now wish to leave for a much cheaper company. The problem is that being on 'Fixed Price 2011', British Gas are saying I have to pay them £100 to leave them.

The company I want to change to say this is nonsense and I don't have to pay, I am just changing suppliers and there is nothing legally binding to say I have to give them anything above and beyond my final bill.

Does anyone have any experience of this or advice?

You must have agreed originally, to a fixed Price and term. If so British Gas has every right to charge you a fee for early exit. All utility companies work in this way.

  • You have to suit a case against said company in British necessary judiciary against mental harassment which caused you sufferings and time loss as well thinking about all these unethical pressures imposed by that company. You should start drafting reply to said company, that as world believe The Great Britain who deed maximum development of entire world building educational system, judiciary system, management system, medical facilities, roads and communication facilities in all other countries whom ever it ruled without any expectation in return should not ignore these unethical business organization later which lessen the moral respect of this Great Nation. If court will charge heavy penalty against them might reflect morals of British and Justice for you as well.
