What clothes should I take for vacation in Bavaria Germany next week?
My family and I are going to visit my husband's adult children whom I have never met. My husband is retired army. We are middle class. I am 48 years old and not athletic. I have been told there will be a lot of walking. What should I pack to wear? We will be leaving August first and staying about 2 weeks. Any fashion help would be appreciated. I have never been outside of the USA.

If you intend to do hiking bring good shoes you are comfortable walking in.
Depending if you go to the mountains bring warm clothing the evenings can get quite cool.
During the day it will be rather warm in August.
Also do not forget to bring a raincoat or at least an umbrella.

"Sensible shoes", I guess......
Ticks are a huge problem in southern Germany in summer.
In addition to repellent lotions etc. and whole-body searches or extra shower sessions in the evenings, the most important (though not sufficient) form of protection is to wear socks and long trousers while doing walks.
I've no idea about fashion - simply avoid wearing leggings, especially brightly-coloured ones.

Walking shoes, unbrella, backpack/purse like (not a purse) jacket, and 3 items of clothing each. Do laundry if possible. packing light is good. Santizer is a must.
