How much should I charge?
I am a freelance writer and I am going to take on a 4-week online English composition course for a client. It involves reading of the textbook, participating in discussions, completing homework, and as well writing assignments (i.e. essays and research papers). How much should I charge per week? What would you pay per week if you were the client?
JHoll, thanks for your input.

Sounds like you are doing your clients homework for them? Boy I feel safe if this guy is training to be a Doctor or Surgeon. This sound like fraud on the American education system. The grants and scholar ships my taxes pay for. Ohh and future insurance claims against this guy for fraud and malpractice. I would charge him at least $250,000 considering the possible legal fee's you might have to pay if caught. Yes it's only English Comp. But if he's doing it with this class, what other classes is he hiring out for. Just imagine 10 years from now this guy is going to perform heart surgery on one of your loved ones. Is the economy that bad that we are allowing or assisting people to Lie, Cheat, and Steal. Shame, Shame, Shame. God Help us ALL.

Freelance writing rates varies from your experience, the deadlines, and the difficulty of the task. Some charge by the hour and some, on fixed rate. No matter how you want to get paid, make sure you negotiate a rate deserving your skills. There are freelance writers who charge as low as $2/hour or per 500 word article and there are those who charge more than the minimum wage rate. It will really depend on how you sell your skills that will land you the best rate. Just make sure your clients will find it reasonable as well. Good Luck!
