What If Tom Cable Has Gained Al Davis' Trust?

By the looks of it, Tom Cable has certainly gained Al Davis' trust. During the 2009 season, Jamarcus Russell was benched and even when Bruce Gradkowski was injured, Charlie Frye came in before Russell. And now in the offseason Russell was released, the Raiders had an excellent draft, Oakland intelligently traded for players they needed, and no free agent came in with an oversized contract.

Furthermore, all the players that the Raiders acquired fit the defensive system run by blitzing coach John Marshall, but Al Davis has never been a fan of the blitz.

And ever further, Hue Jackson is the offensive coordinator for the Raiders and is expected to take over play calling.

So what if Tom Cable has gained Al Davis' trust? Two coaches in Raiders history have done it before and look where the team went under John Madden and Tom Flores.

Assuming Cable has Davis' trust, and assuming that in gaining Davis' trust the coaches are allowed to coach...what's stopping the Raiders from taking a Wild Card spot, or even winning the AFC West of the San Diego Chargers who are falling apart?

my faith. After this coming up season they can win all they want....just please...I want the Patriots to have a high first round choice from the Raiders. Last high pick we had, we got Mayo. If the Raiders can halt their winning ways for just one more season I'd be extremely happy and I hope they win the Superbowl the year after.

But on a more serious note, it's so much easier to coach a team when the owner supports you. The Raiders have got alot of pieces to put something special together. I still think they need one more solid draft though. They got some young talent to put on the o-line this last draft but they need a couple more solid bodies to protect Campbell who I'm assuming will start or Gradkowski.
