Then you will not find any place for $ 20USD a day, unless you want to share with someone else.

As accessible as you could ever find is at $ 40USD per day.

The dates listed are very popular, as is strong season from first of December.

Cancun is in two parts the city of Cancun and the Isla de Cancun or the "Hotel Zone"In the hotel zone you will not find budget hotels. In the city of Cancun there are budget hotels but most do not have a web site or use the web to advertise. You are also coming at the height of the tourist season. Christmas vacation and New Years, the most popular times to come to Cancun! To find a hotel for $20 dollars a night with a private bathroom is impossible. I checked with the youth hostel and they are 80% booked for that period and they do not accept children (babies). The city of Cancun is 5 to 7 Km. from the hotel zone or the beach area. ( 2 to 4 miles). May I suggest Playa Del Carmen just south of Cancun. The famous 5th Av. is just a block from the beach, 5th Av. has all the shops,bars restaurants and things to do. There are several hotels all within walking distance to beach for around $40 a night during this time of the season that are clean and safe. Sorry but it's wrong time to come for deals or budget rooms. Got another question ask me or contact me.

I have lived in Playa del Carman for 11 years 1st went to Cancun 26 years ago if you can find a motel over christmas break for $20 than great!! Ask your sister's friend where I'll check it out for you.
