How can I get to Napa Valley and see the wineries I want to see?
How far is Napa from San Francisco? Is there a way to get there and see the wineries you choose without paying a bum load of money?

Napa Valley is about 1 hour 15 minutes north of San francisco. Most all wineries in Napa do charge a tasting fee, so plan on that. The fee usually is about $5 or $10, but some are more. You can share a tasting with a friend of yours to cut costs. A great way to visit on the cheap is to bring a picnic lunch, then Visit about 3 wineries, have your lunch while sitting at Sattuitti winery, then Visit a couple more wineries. So for 2 people, not counting gas, you can do this on about $50 or so. Not bad for a full day of sightseeing. BTW, many of the wineries in Sonoma still offer free tastings, so that may be an option for ya too. Driving is probably the best way to get here, but they do have a bus that goes all up and down highway 29 too. That will cost you $2, I believe. Pick it up in front of Kohl's in downtown Napa.

47 miles from san francisco to the city of napa, which is at the very bottom of the napa valley. napa valley is approxomately 30miles long itself and contains over 300 wineries.
if you know which wineries yo want to see i would suggest driving and either doing a day trip to see 2 - 3 wineries, or staying over night in napa, yountville, st.helena or calistoga.
If you don't know the wineries at all, I would recommend either taking a bus tour from san francisco, or coming up to napa and arranging a tour from here.
