How is this car wreck my fault?
While driving through an intersection with construction on all sides, a cadillac in front couldn't make a right turn, backed up, and proceeded right. In the mean time the light turned red. I drove through the intersection, since I was alreay half way through, and then was T-boned on my right side by a minivan. The van was at a stop waiting to go, and hit me so hard My car spun over 360 degrees. Now the cop says the wreck is my fault, and I shouldn't have been in the intersection. The van is fine and the kid has no tickets. My car is totalled ($2000) and got a careless ticket. How can this be, and what can I do to fight it?

Bottom line, do not enter an intersection unless you can clear it. As soon as you stop in a intersection you have broken the law. Entering a intersection you can not clear is careless driving,that is how the wreck is your fault.

Sounds like you ran the red light. Or, you proceded through the intersection, and had to stop (because of the guy in front of you - that means, you were TAILGATING them. You are not supposed to go through the intersection, unless it's clear to get ALL THE WAY THROUGH. You're not allowed to block the opposing traffic, by stopping in the middle of the intersection - which you did.
Sorry.
What you can do to fight this, is hire a lawyer. You're probably throwing your money away.
