Can you really have anything for your last meal?

I was just wondering if thats true or a myth.

There's a long history involving a prisoner's last meal and they generally try to honor their request, within reason. In Texas you can get anything that is normally available in the prison system. Kangaroo steaks and mahi-mahi would not be possible. In Florida there's a $40 limit to the cost. See the article below for a list of people's last meals.

No and in many states you cannot even make a specific request.

In states that do allow a request it is limited to what they can make.

I doubt if the kitchen at the Texas Polunsky Unit can do much with a Fois Gras request.

The most often requested last meal has as an entrée fried chicken.
