Can an Army EOD become a ranger after EOD school?
If I join under the 89D contract (EOD spec) after my year of schooling, would I be able to become a ranger? An infantry man, with an EOD badge?
If I can't do that, what would be the best bet for an EOD guy to go into Special Forces?

Short answer? NO. You can only change your MOS during re-enlistment, and only if their is a surplus in your current MOS and a shortage in the one you want to go into. Problem is that there is never a surplus of EOD. Long answer? Kinda. Any male in the Army can attend Ranger School. This does not make you a Ranger, it makes you ranger qualified and you are authorized to wear the ranger tab. As far as going to ranger battalion and being infantry and all that, you will want to do that first, then go EOD later if you want to do both. As for Special Forces, once you meet the minimum requirements of time in service and you have attained the rank of Specialist (E4) you can attend SFAS, does not matter what MOS you currently hold.
Good Luck

prolly not. the best way to go ranger is to go infantry. then you still only have a 30% chance of making it. and i doubt ur in that kind of physical condition. and the best way to become infantry is to join infantry.
