Tattoos you cant have in the Special Forces?
***Dont answer unless your in the military , specificaly the Army, prefferably the Special Forces****
I have in mind a couple of tattoo I's like to get but wonder if any of them would conlict with getting into the special forces or prevent me from engaging in certain missions. Theses tattoos include a cross which reads "to whom he gives much is expected", the Special Forces crest, and the words " U.S. Army Rangers".
thanks for your time

I strongly advise AGAINST any tattoos at all. If you ever want to work in an area that requires you NOT to stand out from the crowd and be easily identified, a tattoo will be a roadblock. You either get that or you don't.

I think it's the same as all Special Forces groups that the tattoos cannot show when you are in uniform. Also there is speculation that if you have anything that points out where you are from or what branch of the military you are in you may not get into some of the more 'special' assignments. Other than that you should be good to go. Good Luck

Heads up, don't get any tattoos you don't rate yet! Once you're in you can get them as long as you get them in the proper locations, but if you get them before you are in (1) Murphy's law says you're not going to make it in, (2) You're going to only make it harder on yourself in the indoc process.

None of those would go against Army regs. But do NOT get the SF or Ranger tab until you earn it!

I'm 13. I love the military. PM me for clarification or anything. I'll try to help you the best I can.
1) It depends where the tattoos are.
2) Check w/ a Recruiter that will tell you if they are okay or not.
3) I believe they are okay. I saw some vets that got tattoos during the time they were in saying stuff like that or saying, "US ARMY" or NAVY or MARINES or what not.
4) Army SF is Green Berets. All the other branches, ex- Rangers, Force Recon, Navy SEALs, are SPECIAL OPERATIONS.
