Are contact lens better than glasses?
which among the two would you prefer a 16 year myopic boy? I am using glasses, but my power has rised to about -3 diopters. Does contact lens reduce the rate growth of my eye power?

contact lenses don't effect your eye-sight in anyway at all. they are just like glasses except people can't see them.

Contact lens are used for cosmetic reasons, but do NOT slow the rate growth of your eye power. By the time you're 24 years old, the power of your eye should stay stable; at that time, you could consider Laser eye surgery, then you don't have to wear neither eyeglasses or contact lens. I'm in my late 20s, got my LASIK 3 years ago, and now my eyesight is better than 20/20 without the worry of putting on contacts or looking for my glasses.

I think contact lenses are much better, also because your 16 you won't be that keen on glasses.
Contact lenses get rid of the frame and all that hassle, but they cost quite a bit, unless you go somewhere like specsavers who are quite cheap.
& they don't reduce the rate growth, they just kind of like stabalize it, but only for a while, as you grow your eyes will still go bad, until you reach a age where they settle.

essentially they are both the same. like when you start wearing contacts, you get rid of the frame, so its a matter of choice and convenience. if you are not comfortable putting things in and out of your eyes everyday, contacts might not really be for you, although it might take a bit getting used to.
Power wise, you eye doctor checks you out now and then, and increases or reduces your numbers based on the tests he conducts on your site
